The day flew by quickly, and I had progressed a friendship with Jeremy, Elena and their friends, all except for Bonnie. I don't know what it was about Bonnie, but that vision I got tells me that it came from her. Did she know I saw that? I then brushed it off and remembered I was still in Jeremy's car. Jeremy was driving, Elena sat in the passenger seat and I sat in the back, already typing on my laptop. "Let me guess, a flood of homework, huh?" I laughed lightly and continued typing my history report and said "I have no idea how you do all of this? I mean an essay on the first day. Who does that?" the car then stopped and I swung my back pack over my shoulder, then grabbing my laptop and as I hopped out, I thanked Jeremy and Elena for helping me with today, and then I hear Elena call out to me "Jack." I turn to her and she calls "Will we be seeing you at the back to school party?"

I shrugged my shoulders, and she then says "Come on." Jeremy responded with "Come on Jack, it'll be fun." I then sighed and responded by saying "You've cornered me on this one. I'll see you there." Elena then yells "We'll pick you up around nine," and then the car was gone. I opened the unlocked door and walked inside, heading for my room to study. I opened my laptop and I then began typing my homework. After an hour, I then finish the project; I head for the mirror by my mirror upon the wall above a collage of photos. I grab the golden frame and pull the picture from the wall, then reaching into the darkness to the middle of the mirror, then pulling out a red leather book. My diary, which I had been writing in since the day of the funeral. I open it up to a new page and begin writing.

'Dear Diary, today, I felt better. I don't feel as depressed as I have for the past few weeks and now, I feel as if I am not the only other one in the world. I smiled, said "Hello," made friends- in other words, I became a normal teenager. I have friends, I may not have much family, but I know that I have others to lean on.'

I closed the diary and then replaced it back behind the mirror, then hearing a buzz. I reach into my pocket and pull out my phone and answer the text that reads Jack, we'll be over soon. See you then. - Elena. I then enter my closet- which is a walk in, and look for something to wear, realising that I had studied for more than one hour. I then pull a pair of black jeans from the hanger and grab a red shirt, a pair of red vans and I don't take off the ring. I quickly dress and I make my way down the stairs, hearing my phone ring in my back pocket. I answer Jeremy's call and he says "We're on our way." I hang up after thanking him again for helping me, and I then walk into the kitchen, then realising Ben had returned.

"How was your first day of school?" He asked. "Good. I made friends, smiled, and was loaded with homework." I then see that he isn't smiling, he is using his arms to lean against the counter, and he looks somewhat sad. "Ben, are you alright." He then says "Yeah, it’s just- Before your parents died, they left you a box.' I was sad that he brought up my parents, but curious about to box. 'What about it" I ask. "The box contains information about your real family." I am shocked that my parents didn't give it to me earlier, and that I had something of my real family, but I then ask "Where is it?" "Jack, you can't open it yet." I feel like entering a rage, realising he had told me of the slightest bit of happiness I had and now he was holding it hostage from me.

"Why? Why can't I have the only thing left of my parents? Do you want to keep it for yourself, leave me upset forever and pissed at you for mentioning it just to rub it in my face?" He slammed his fist at the counter and he then says "Not tonight, Jack. You’ll get it on your birthday, but tonight, don't mention it." I then hear the doorbell ring and I then turn and leave, yelling back to him "Enjoy your night alone, ass." I then open the door, and see Elena standing there. "Ready" she asked, and I then said "More than ever.' I then follow her to the car, closing the door behind me, not looking back.
