Miranda's pov
I'm coming home from my small Nashville home to go to my brother's wedding. I have yet to meet the fiancé but I'm sure she'll be great. I walk through the door of the church. They're getting it ready for next week. "So Sean, where's the lucky lady?" I ask. He pulls at his shirt. "There's something you should know." He says. "Ok, I'll find out after I meet the girl who can tolerate my brother." I joke.
Sean's pov
My fiancé's brother is her ex boyfriend and they didn't end on happy terms. She's gonna flip. "Hey Kasi." I call. She walks out and my silly sister backs up surprised. "Whoa, uh hey Kasi." She gasps.
Miranda's pov
I totally didn't see this coming. "Whoa, uh hey Kasi... I... Uh is Jason...." She nods. "I'm sorry. I know you two weren't.... You know." I silence her. "I'm fine." I mumble. We were the best couple at Windsor high. He had the idea that at graduation, he was gonna leave everyone behind and disappear. I don't know where he went or what happened. No one did. But he obviously kept tabs on us because he knew about the wedding. "Where is he?" I ask. "In the back parking lot." She says, "Wait, you don't want to go out there!" She grabs my shoulder. "W-Why not?" I whimper. "He's got a girlfriend with him." She says. Shit!
Jason's pov
"She got lucky. I almost didn't make it." I mutter, opening another beer can. My girlfriend Ann sits on the hood of my truck. The door to the church slams open. "Uh oh. Is the bride pissed or is the groom?" Luke mutters, looking out that way. I don't even care. I'm here for the wedding and then I'm gone. I don't care who the guy is. I'm not even going to bother to talk to him. "Uh Jason.... This ya gotta see." Luke says, sounding terrified. I turn around and drop my beer in shock. "You!" I gasp, "What are you doing here!?" She crosses her arms. "Well, being sister of the groom might have something to do with it." She grumbles, annoyed. Damn. I'm gonna have to deal with avoiding her all week. I have to find Kasi. "I uh gotta go." I say, running toward the church. I stumble in the door breathing heavily. I look back out the window. She still stands in the middle of the parking lot. Oh man. It just had to be her! The one thing I hated about leaving behind. The only thing I missed. I find Kasi in the front of the church. "Why didn't you tell me you were getting married to my ex girlfriend's brother!?" I gripe. "I did. You and your stupid no listening made you not pay attention. I told you at least 3 times." I don't remember her telling me anything. I still don't know how she got a hold of my manager. "We need to talk." Shoot. It's her. "Why? We're not dating anymore. There's no left feelings." "You seem pretty mad for their not to be anything!" My eyes go wide. She's right. But I can't tell her I still like her. "No I don't." I lie, walking away. "You always were the worst liar." She says. I turn around and she's smiling smugly at me. "Oh shut up." "You're a jerk." She grumbles, stomping passed me, something falling from her hand. I pick it up and am about to give it back when she slams the door. I glance down at it. A locket. "You dropped your locket." I whisper, gripping it tightly in my hand. The locket I gave her. Years ago. For our two year anniversary. 6 months before I left everything behind. I want to run after her but then Ann is on my arm. What do I do?!
