Come on, Luke. Just do it. Put this all to an end. Chances are you'll never see her again. What's the point in making yourself suffer for no reason? Even if you did run into her on the streets, she won't want anything to do with you. You're a crazy bastard that just drinks his life away anyways.
Just do it.
Staring down at the full bottle of prescription drugs my last psychiatrist prescribed me last month, I took one final swig of the bourbon bottle I had in my other hand. Swallowing the biting liquid, I sat the bottle on the table next to me and unscrewed the cap to release the pills.
Spilling about a dozen of the small, white pills that were supposed to make me feel happy, I played with them in the palm of my hand.
Only one thing left to do now...
I picked the bottle of liquor back up and popped all the pills into my mouth. Shortly after, I gulped down the pill and alcohol mixture in my mouth.
The first few minutes, I didn't feel any different. It was the final two before I blacked out that I felt the effects.
It's all over now...
And then everything was black.

The movement of someone shuffling around in the space beside me on the bed was what woke me up this morning. Not an alarm, not someone laying on their car horn from the traffic outside, not the obnoxious birds chirping outside. And it was a nice change.
I stirred in my side of the bed and stretched before even opening my eyes to see what time it was. Suddenly I felt a body roll on top of me, holding me by the waist. I pried my eyes opened and met with the lovely face of Caleb. He smiled, "Good morning, beautiful." He whispered in my ear before dipping down to leave soft butterfly kisses down my neck.
I giggled because the feeling of his lips on my neck tickled, "Good morning to you too." I mumbled in a tired voice. My hand flew up to the back of his head as he continued to leave kisses on my skin. I let my fingers comb through his long, curly, brown hair until he picked his head back up to look at me. Reaching up to the side of my face, his fingers danced along my jawline, barely touching me it was so gentle.
"I don't want to go to work." He complained.
"Me neither, babe."
He leaned back down and pecked my lips, chin, nose, cheeks, and forehead in between fragments of his sentence: "We could both call in sick." He suggested in high hopes that I would agree. I pushed him off me and scoffed, "Yeah okay, dude." I said sarcastically and swung my legs over the edge of the bed. I stood up to head to the bathroom and found Caleb now laying down on his back pouting at me.
"Don't give me that face!" I exclaimed.
"What face?" He questioned, playing dumb before puffing out his bottom lip again.
I pointed at him, "That. Stop doing that!" I demanded. He chuckled and picked himself up from the bed after giving up, "Fine, but when I come home you're all mine." He winked while brushing past me. I playfully rolled my eyes and headed towards my bathroom to get ready for another glorious day at work.

Entering the hospital on my lunch break, I decided to pay Caleb a visit with some food. Just because I'm the best fiancé in the entire world. Knowing that Caleb was most likely busy with patients, I walked up the Jeanine who operated the front desk. She smiled when she saw me, "Hello, Rebecca. What can I do for you?"
