"Woah, Rebecca. What are you doing?" Caleb instantly pushed my lips away from his. I ran my hands down his clothed torso and met with the beginning of his sweatpants, "I missed being with you. I need you right now." I whispered before attaching my lips to his neck.

Again, he pushed me away making this rejection number two of the night, "No, you're using me." He said before removing my body from on top of his. I landed beside him on the couch and watched as he stood up to walk away. I got up on my knees, "Please don't walk away." My voice cracked. I glanced down and found my shirt and quickly put it back on.

"There's someone looking for me. Someone bad." I admitted while standing up from the couch. Caleb stopped walking and slowly turned around to meet with me face to face. He was several feet away from me, but it was still better than having him walk away from me.

"What are you talking about?" He questioned.

I stepped towards him, "In college, Luke worked for a guy selling drugs. I got into the middle of it, but it all went away because the guy was thrown in jail. He got out recently, and he's looking for me to finish what was started. That's why I'm here."

The look on Caleb's face was unreadable. I could usually tell if he were angry, sad, happy, but this time was different.

She's never going to talk to me again. Which is probably a good thing considering this is all my mess in the first place. I honestly thought that we would have another eight years until Charlie was let out. Yet again, I'm not an expert on the system.

It was about 2 am when I finally made it to Boston where Ashton was living. We thought it would be best to be separated by a few states in case anything like this happened again. I pulled up to his house where he was waiting for me outside. I got out of the car as he started walking towards me, "I can't believe we still have to deal with this shit." He mumbled to me while handing me a white envelope.

"What is this?" I asked motioning to the thick envelope he just handed to me. He looked up at me and gave a small smile, "It's $2,000 in cash. You're going to need it if you want to disappear."

I quickly shoved it back into his pocket, "What are you, crazy? I can't take that from you! You have a family to support." I exclaimed. Instantly, Ashton's index finger flew up to his mouth telling me to be quiet, "Speaking of which, I have a four month old trying to sleep so try not to scream."

"Sorry," I mumbled before locking eyes with his big green ones, "I didn't come for your money, Ash. I came to-" I started to say but I was interrupted by the front door opening. Out came a tired Bryana holding a baby, "Luke? What are you doing here? Is everything alright?" She questioned in the most confused tone ever.

Ashton quickly turned all the way towards her, "Everything is fine, babe. I'll be back in a minute. Luke is going to stay over for the night, is that okay?"

I instantly interjected, "No I'm not. I just came to say goodbye before I leave for Philadelphia."

"It's 2 am, Luke. Come on, stay the night and you can leave in the morning if you'd like. You look wrecked." Bryana giggled causing Ashton to laugh too. I tried not to look offended before I finally gave in knowing all too well that Ashton wouldn't let me leave.

"Alright." I said before hitting the lock button to my car and following Ashton up to the front door. Bryana shut it and locked it behind us when Ashton announced that he was going to get some extra pillows and blankets. Now it was just me, Bryana, and their baby.

She nudged her head to the right telling me to follow her. She showed me to the living room and switched on the light, "Here, hold Charlotte for me?" She handed over the baby to me. Unintentionally, I gave her a strange look while eyeing the baby up and down, "Uh-"

"Oh come on, you've never been opposed to girls before." She winked while still offering the baby apparently named Charlotte to me. Hesitantly, I took Charlotte and awkwardly held her in my extended arms. I just made eye contact with her brown orbs while she chewed on two of her fingers.

I was never a person who liked kids, so this was extremely weird for me. I'm pretty sure I've never even held a baby before right now. My switched my eyes over to Bryana who was transforming the couch into a bed. I looked back at Charlotte who was not very subtle about checking me out. I just hoped and prayed she didn't start crying or God forbid throw up on me.

Thankfully, I heard Ashton's huge feet run down the stairs to my rescue, "Babe, head's up." He said before tossing the pillow into the air. Bryana caught it and placed it on the once-a-couch-now-a-bed and they did the same with the blanket. Ashton looked over at me holding his daughter and started laughing, "This is a sight to see." He teased before reaching for his daughter.

"Hello, my love." He said to the baby causing her to smile. He cradled her in his arms, and I watched as he played dad; slightly jealous about how perfect his life turned out to be. I was yanked from my little trance when Bryana smacked the pillow with her hand to fluff it, "All set. Mama's tired so I'm heading to bed." She announced before leaning down to leave a kiss on Charlotte's head and then up to kiss Ashton briefly.

"Make sure she doesn't stay up too late." She told Ashton before they exchanged their 'I love yous' and Bryana disappeared upstairs. Ashton turned to me once she was gone, "If she asks, don't mention Charlie. The last thing I need is for her to freak out."

I nodded, "I won't, promise. Listen, thanks for letting me stay here."

"No problem, dude. Can I just say something really quick?"

"Sure."

"You're awful at holding babies. How could you not want to cuddle with this face?! I mean look at it!" He held Charlotte up so they were face to face and that's when I noticed she looked exactly like him. It was actually super scary.

I couldn't hold back the smile threatening to creep into my face, "She's cute, but I'm not a baby sorta guy." I told him. Ashton rolled his eyes, "Either was I, but here I am."

"When did your life become much less problematic than mine?" I asked jokingly. I was secretly hoping he'd give me an answer.

"I didn't leave the love of my life for seven years. I didn't give her the option of marrying someone else. I got my shit together. About time you did the same, Luke."

Well, damn he told me, I guess.

"I know I'm an idiot. Rebecca is never going to talk to me again. I basically pushed her back into the arms of her ex fiancé, who knows if I'm ever going to get her back now." I ran my hands through my messy hair before bringing them down to rub my tired eyes.

"Please tell me you're taking her to Philly with you." Ashton walked over to the couch/bed and placed Charlotte on his lap. I joined him, "I would in a heartbeat, the thing is if she'll go with me after what I did."

"She loves you, just don't be too late."
