Imagine: Jack and the Doctor arguing over you.
Cardiff is a rather uneventful place. Really, it is! ...that is, if you look past Torchwood and the whole Weevil infestation thing. But besides that, everything was fine and dandy
Yeah right.
Captain Jack Harkness lived in Cardiff. And anywhere Jack was, trouble was as well. It was just a fact of life. Seriously, the Doctor and Jack have so much more in common than they'd like to admit.
"This isn't a good sign," I commented as the Doctor and I stepped out of the TARDIS, out into the downpour of rain.
"It's just rain, [Y/N]," he waved me off and took my hand, pulling me towards the nearest shelter.
"Couldn't we just wait in the TARDIS, like last time?" I raised an eyebrow, "I mean, she's just refueling."
"Last time, we were pulled to the end of the Universe."
"Because Jack clinged onto the TARDIS for dear life. She was trying to shake him off, that's what you told me."
"Yes. Well now he can't do that, because I don't plan on ditching him this time."
"Wait, you're not asking for him to travel with us, are you? Don't get me wrong, I adore Jack to bits, but you two bicker like a married couple," I gave him a look.
The Doctor scoffed as he soniced the invisible lift, "We merely debate. There's a difference."
"Plus, he's probably busy. After all, he is the leader of Torchwood," I tried as he stepped into the elevator, pulling me along with him.
"Not busy enough for us," he said simply, "Going down."
I sighed as we were lowered into the underground hub. Alarms were ringing out, making me frown as we reached the bottom.
"What's going on?" I asked the Doctor as I caught sight of a few different people rushing about.
"No idea," he glanced down at me, "Something seems wrongs."
"Thanks Sherlock."
He rolled his eyes as he grabbed my hand and led me forward, "Hello? What's wrong?"
"Who the hell are you?" an unfamiliar man in a white lab coat asked sharply, making me frown.
"I'm the Doctor, and this is my friend [Y/N]. We're here to see Jack. Is he here, by any chance?"
He looked a bit annoyed, but I didn't blame him. They were obviously busy.
"Doctor, maybe we should-" I started, but suddenly the alarms shut off, and an uneasy silence filled the air.
"Okay...that doesn't seem good," the Doctor muttered as he released my hand. I tried to grab it again, but he had already moved forward.
"Doctor!" I hissed quietly. I didn't know anyone here!
"[Y/N]?" Jack's voice rang out behind me, and without a second thing, I turned around and let out a sigh of relief when I was face to face with the immortal man.
"Jack, thank god," I threw my arms around him, giving him a tight hug, "What the hell's going on?"
"We don't know. Someone's hacked into the security network," he informed quickly, taking my hand and pulling me towards a set up of computers, "Toshiko can't seem to stop them, and she can do anything."
"The Doctor, he's here. Maybe he can help," I informed as I watched a woman frustratedly work at her computers, but nothing was happening.
"What are you two doing here anyway?"
