The story of Jeffery Fjord is a pretty simple one, he was raised in a mansion, his father was a lawyer and the mother was a doctor. He grew up seeing two different sides of life; with his mother, he saw a strong person who would never give up on trying to save someone's life but with his father, he saw a dirty lawyer who would bend the truth for money, he was always confused on which way was correct.
As he got older, his father started teaching him the laws and really began pushing the attorney way of life onto him and how to make the most money in situations. Meanwhile his mother was teaching him about medicines and mixing them together to make other items, she wanted him to know how to save someone no matter what the problem may be or where it may occur. As much as his parents spoke to him, they never once listened back to what he had to say, the only one that did that was the butler Larry, he was a kind old man that always took care of him.
There was one thing he liked most about when he would be with his dad and that was seeing reports from the police officers, that's what he really wanted to do. Until he was twelve and he saw a report on TV where a hostage negotiator saved the lives of five hostages in a bank robbery, it was then he knew just wanted he wanted to do. A few years later when he graduated high school, he told his folks what he wanted to do, neither one of them were happy, his father actually verbally disowned him that night, but it didn't discourage him. His mother although disappointed, supported his choice and he went into the Police force.
He was given a badge and gun, and praised at what an amazing officer he was. He broke up a few robberies, caught some burglars, but it still wasn't what he completely wanted. One day when he was off duty, he got a call from Larry to rush right home, he arrived to find police cars and an ambulance there; he went inside to find that his father died after overdosing on cocaine. His father left everything under his mother's name; he didn't leave one thing for him. Jeffery continued with his life working hard to start to become a negotiator, what he didn't know was that his mother's health was declining. She knew eventually she would be gone, and had a lawyer came in and finalize her will to leave everything what was hers and her husband's all to Jeffery even if she was only bedridden and unconscious.
A few months went by and Jeffery was an official negotiator and was thrilled, he sped home to go tell his mom. When he got there Larry greeted him at the door, he said hello to Larry and ran upstairs to his mother's room. When he got to her room, he saw she was lying in bed, he tried to get her attention to wake her up, but she wouldn't open her eyes, he could see that she was still breathing.
"Master Jeffery."
"Larry, what's wrong with my mother?"
"She has grown ill, her health had been getting worse for years, she just never wanted you to know about it."
"So, she is still alive."
"Yes, but she does not have long for this world."
"Thank you Larry."
"Sir, be assure that your mother, though she was saddened at first at the idea of you not being a doctor, she was thrilled at you being your own person, and not giving in to following in hers or your father's footsteps."
Jeffery Fjord was now twenty-two years old, a negotiator, and had everything his mother and father had ever earned in their lives. Connections his father had tried to come in and affect his life but he told them off and assured them that he had no intentions of doing the same dealings as his father. Some tried to fight back and convince him to use his police connections to get them things they wanted, most of these people were high society dealers, they quickly found themselves out of business and all their money was taken away.
Eventuallyhis mother did pass away, and although he was able to afford anything he couldever want, it never made him really happy. The only time he is happy, is when he was doing his job knowing he wasable to use things that both his father and mother taught him, and that hismother was watching down on him and seeing him live his dream.
