At a young age, Kenneth showed great promise and was an intelligent child. His parents were very proud of him. His mother was a stay at home mom, while his father was a police officer turned private detective. He was good at his job and took care of any case he ever received. Once Kenneth was old enough to comprehend everything, his dad began training him for the life of a detective, making sure he had a keen eye to notice things that may stick out or appear out of place. When he had homework finished, he would sit down and read detective stories, his favorite being Sherlock Holmes or he would be down in the family room with his dad and watch shows on TV. He looked up to his father so much and wanted to be just like him. When Kenneth got to the age of ten, his dad started to take him out to the police gun range to learn how to use a gun, his dad's favorite was a Walther P38 and he taught Kenneth everything there was to know about that gun. Over the years, Kenneth learned how to use the gun well, but during that time, through television and other forms of media, he saw what pain a gun could cause a person and never wanted to have to use one. When he turned sixteen his dad felt he had taught his son everything there was to know about being a detective.
One day when Kenneth got home from school, he found that neither his mom nor his dad were home. He went into the kitchen and started heating up something to eat and got a can of soda out of the fridge when he noticed a note was left on the table, he picked it up and began to read.
"Dear Kenneth,
Me and your mother are going off somewhere, now we do have three tickets, but the only way you get to go, is if you can follow the clues and find us, you have until six this evening, hope to see you then.
Dad
P.S
Your first clue is located in the garage."
Kenneth went running into the garage to find the clue his dad mentioned, although when he walked inside, it all seemed normal, then he noticed that a hammer was on the table, his father was always good about hanging the tools back up, so that seemed strange. He went and picked it up, under the hammer was the top half of a receipt for a grocery store, the rest had been torn off. Kenneth got on his bike and went to the store, from there he asked the clerk about the receipt and the clerk handed him the other half that was torn off, it showed they had bought suntan lotion. The clerk then handed him a second note.
"Good eye son, now you can truly travel by the light of the moon."
Kenneth was staring down at his father note wondering what he meant by travel by moonlight, when he went back out to his bike, he remembered seeing a flyer back home for a company called Moonlight Travel Agency. He ran back in and asked the clerk if they knew the location of the company and went racing towards it. When he got to the agency he began asking the agents if they knew anything about the Cohl family, one girl in the back raised her hand and with a smile handed Kenneth a note.
"Congratulations, your almost there, your next clue is solving my riddle. I can be big or small, I can float or sink, I can carry hundreds of people or none, I could be in found in the largest ocean or the smallest tub, what am I?"
Kenneth knew exactly where his folks were and got back on his bike and raced to the harbor, when he got closer, he could see the cruise ship getting larger, and the sound of people cheering got louder. He chained his bike to a light pole and ran into the crowd, and he found there waiting to get on to the ship watching his clock was his father, next to him was his mother.
