Case File Eighteen: Friends

Kenneth was spending the evening with some of his friends he hadn't seen in quite some time. There's his friend Hombre; he is Hispanic, shaved head, glasses, and loves a good drink. Next is Cuzo; he is an African American, he wears a do-rag on his head so you never really get to see his hair, then there was Henry, he's Caucasian, short hair, with a slight bit of facial hair, both he and Cuzo share a love for the finer things that mother nature has to offer. Lastly there was Kyle; he's a Caucasian as well, tall, long black hair, generally in a pissed off mood. It was a pretty good night of game-play, except Kyle still hadn't shown up, and Carmen was in the background watching the action. It got to midnight and they began to shut down the game.

"How can you guys enjoy playing such a barbaric video game?" Carmen asked.

"Because it's fun, it's what we are in to." Kenneth replied with a laugh.

"I don't see how hitting each other with chairs and making each other bleed counts as fun, even if it is just a game."

"That's because it's a guy thing, little mama." Hombre interfered.

"Where Kyle at man, it just don't feel right kicking ya'lls asses without kicking his." Cuzo said.

"I've been trying to call him, but it just rings and then goes to voicemail." Kenneth said.

"Let's get in the car and go check out his house; it isn't far from here, right?" Henry suggested.

"Oh hell yea, let me grab my drink, get some tunes, and we're gone." Hombre said holding a bottle in the air

Within ten minutes they were all in Kenneth's car, he was driving and Carmen was next to him in the passenger seat. The other three were in the back; Cuzo and Henry were chilling while Hombre had his head out the window, singing along to whatever song may play. When they got to Kyle's house they saw his car in the driveway, so they got out and began walking up to the door.

"Hey Hombre, I've known you for years but I never asked, do you know why your parents named you Hombre." Kenneth asked.

"Cause dog, they knew one day I would become the man, which is why they named me that, because I am the man." he replied.

"Bitch if you the man, how come your ass is always the one getting pinned." Cuzo added.

"Shut up bitch!" Hombre said with a laugh as he knocked on the door.

They continued knocking on the door; eventually Kyle's girlfriend Lindsay opened the door.

"Do you guys know what time it is?" she said as she opened the door.

"I told them they were being stupid." Carmen interjected.

"Hey, where's Kyle?" Lindsay asked.

"That's what we came to see, he never came over, when did you see him last." Kenneth added.

"I saw him this morning; he just mentioned he was going to be with you all. When I got home and saw the car, I figured one of you just picked him up." She responded.

"Nah, and we been trying his cell for a minute." Cuzo said.

"His cell phone, we both have GPS trackers on them, if he is with his phone, we can track it." Lindsay explained.

They went inside as she pulled up the tracker on the computer and began looking for Kyle; his cell phone was located in a house a few blocks away, Carmen chose to stay behind as the guys went off to the house. When they got there, they saw there was a sign posted in the front of the yard saying the house was for sale, but there was a car in the driveway. There were no lights on in the house, so they parked in the lot next door. They got out and began to walk around to the house. Someone had opened all the windows and they could hear footsteps inside with some heavy breathing. Kenneth peeked up through a window and saw Kyle tied down to a chair and in front of him was a woman who looked like she had a taser; he couldn't see much else because of how dark it was inside.

"Kyle is tied to a chair, and some woman is standing in front of him." Kenneth told the others and they huddled.

"So what do we do?" Henry asked looking at Kenneth.

"Alright, here's the plan, Hombre and Henry you guys take the front, knock on the door, ring the bell make any noise you can, hopefully she will get worried and go to the front, Cuzo and I will sneak in through the window and get Kyle out of there, once we do we'll meet you guys heading towards the car." Kenneth told them all.

Before splitting up, Kenneth put a call in to the police to come and help with an abduction case. Henry and Hombre got to the front and began making as much noise as possible. Kenneth and Cuzo kept an eye out and as soon as they saw her move to the front, they hopped in through the window and ran to Kyle.

"You ok man." Cuzo said slapping Kyle's face.

"The psycho drugged me, I can't move, everything is spinning." He replied.

"We're going to get you out of here." Kenneth said untying him from the chair.

Once the ropes were cut, his body began to fall to the floor, it took both Kenneth and Cuzo to keep him from falling and start walking him to the window. They tossed him out the window head first, and when he hit the ground below, there was a loud thud, which caused the woman to rush back to the room, just in time to see the two standing at the window.

"Shit!" they both said before jumping out. Kenneth was able to close the window behind him as Cuzo yelled for the others and started to pick up Kyle's body

Kenneth kept his hands pressed against the window trying to prevent her from getting outside as the others picked up Kyle's body. Once they started to make their way to the car, she left the window. Kenneth began running with them to get the car started. They tossed his body in the back and Kenneth got into the car and Kenneth got behind the wheel, but by this time the woman was already in front of his car.

"You can't take him away from me!" she cried out waving the taser in the air.

"He isn't yours; you can't just drug people and take them." Kenneth said looking at her.

"But we're in love, we met on an online game and we talk all the time, I know he loves me." She explained.

"Yo, I know about this, Kyle was telling me about her the other day, she just a psycho that's been stalking him online and always trying to chat with him." Cuzo said.

"I am not a psycho, and I'm not stalking him, I love him, and he loves me, now give him back."

"Well what you did tonight is called abduction, and it's going to lead you towards getting some help." Kenneth told her as police vehicles showed up at the scene.

Turns out her name was Autumn, she was just a lonely girl that no one ever talked to, in person or online, until Kyle just so happened to walk past her on a game and just said "hi", that sparked an obsessive behavior in her and caused her to cross this line. She somehow hacked the game system to look up his player information and got his name, from that she just went online through search companies and found where he lived. Kyle came to about an hour later after they got him inside and to the couch. They all had a laugh about it once he came to, especially after he asked for his mommy right before waking up. It was then that Kenneth looked around and didn't see Carmen around; he shrugged it off thinking she just went to the bathroom. Though she was outside in the front yard on the cell phone, and the only thing that she said was, "It's time."
