Chapter 1: 'Normal' Morning

It was a gloomy day and the sun was barely coming out. I looked at the time and it was 5:30. I look at my surroundings to find myself in a pile of warm blankets, it was in the middle of fall and it gets chilly at times. I push away the comforting blankets and sit at the edge of my bed. I look down at my bare feet and wiggle my toes like a little girl. I set my feet down on the cold, wooden floor and I let my body adjust to the sudden feeling.

I walk my half sleepy body to my closet so that I can choose what to wear today. I chose a burgundy tank top with a black and white triangle patterned sleeve shirt to top it, some sky blue; ripped jeans, and black and white converse. I walked to the bathroom to brush my teeth and fix my hair. I did my hair into a side braid and put on a white, wool beanie that my grandmother made me. I put on simple black eyeliner and mascara with clear lip gloss. I take one last look at myself and smile. Today I am feeling confident but it will soon disappear.

I grab a black bag and put my binder and other school stuff that I will need inside and set it down on a chair. I eat a banana and some toast than I head towards my mother's room. I don't have a father, well I do but its a long story. I slowly open the door to find my glorious mom sleeping on her bed.

"Morning mom." I say quietly. It was loud enough for her to move her head slightly to catch a look at me.

"Morning Lily." She says in such a soft soothing voice.

"Are you leaving already?" She asks and I approach her.

"Yea, was about to leave but I decided to stop for a visit." I say causing my mother to giggle. I smile at her and she slowly rises and while she rises she starts coughing. I grab her bottle of pills from her lamp desk and hand her two pills and some water.

My mom got sick not to long ago and it has been very difficult here. I had to work really late at night and I would wake up still feeling a bit tired but I have gotten used to it. I took her to the doctors and they prescribed her some antibiotics. It helps her but its not curing her.

"Thank you sweety, now go on to school, you don't want to be late." She says and I rise from her bed and straight to the door. As I was at the front door, I look back at my mother who was now walking to the kitchen to make a coffee.

"Love you mom." I say.

"Love you too Lily." She replies. I shut the door and started walking towards my school.

I arrive at the front gate of my school and I started getting a bad feeling. I really don't like being at school for two reasons.

1.I am a perfect target for bully's.
2.I don't have many friends.

Yea, I get picked on because I am a really shy person and its hard for me to make friends. The only friend I have is my best friend named Sofia. I met her in middle school and I didn't have any friends at the time. I was walking alone in the hallway, when all of a sudden, my bully named Karina, comes out of no where and pushes me to the ground.

Flashback.

"Not so tough after all huh?" She says with the two girls that follow her around everywhere laughing at me. I slowly start to stand up to defend myself but they push me back onto the floor.

"Leave me alone, Karina!" I yell, hoping someone could hear me in these quiet halls.

"Why should I? You like my crush and you can't have him." She says as she kicks me. I grunt at the sudden pain and I lay on the floor, looking helpless.

"Come on Lily! Fight like a grown women!" She says and kicks me again. I let out a cry of pain and the three girls start laughing.

"Awww, look at the little shy baby cry." She says and they all laugh. Than out of no where they all start kicking and punching me, but to my rescue, Sofia comes and punches them away.
