Chapter 5: The Call

(Lily's POV)

The teacher finished explaining the rules to the classroom as she sat on her table, she told us to just stay seated and chat until the bell rang.

Me and Craig have some similarities.

We both are quiet at times, we love reading, and we are stupidly awkward. I laugh as he told me a story about the time he got pranked by his friends.

"It was the most embarrassing day of my life, that's why I never use the bathroom during lunch anymore, they would just barge in and try to take pics of me while I am doing my business." I burst out laughing and the teacher tells us to be a little quieter.

I look at Craig who seem to be blushing with embarrassment. I pat his shoulder and he looks at me.

"I am sorry for laughing." I say and he smiles.

"Its fine, whenever I tell that story over and over to the guys, they burst out laughing." He says and I see him jump at his phone vibrating.

"Its your friend." He says and hands me his phone.

S- Omg, Hope he buys you a new phone. Sounds like you had a nice first day of senior year, I would like to join with you but I am going to a tennis meeting during lunch.

Sorry if I let you down. :( Have fun though.

I sigh when I read it, Craig catches me and pokes my forehead.

"Everything okay?" He asks and I nod.

"Yea, just a little bummed because she said she wouldn't be able to join us." I say and I quickly reply back.

L- Awww, I was hoping you were able to come. Next time. :) Have fun at the meeting.

I hand his phone back and he puts it in his back pocket. I fix my things in my bag, since it was only a minute left until the bell for lunch rang. Craig puts away a book that he brought out in case the teacher asked to take notes.

I didn't understand why an art class would take notes, all I know is that he came prepared and I didn't.

Ring!

Me and Craig exited the classroom and he walked me towards the cafeteria. I started feeling a little nervous for some reason, I feel like everybody is watching me. I started to breath heavily, I was hoping Craig didn't notice. As I was grabbing my lunch, my arm started shaking, I shakely set my food down on my tray and slide to the next. I grab an apple and it falls on my tray, I give a tired sigh and I feel something touch my arm. I turn to see Craig smiling, I smile in return and I feel myself calm down. I take my tray and I follow Craig.

"Alright, I gotta warn you about some people in the group....Jonathan can be a bit crazy and my best friend Tyler can be a bit loud." He says and I giggle.

"I met most of them today. I had some of them in my classes." I say and he smiles.

"Well, you should be getting along well with them than." He smiles and I smile back.
