Chapter 9: Truth Hurts

(Lily's POV)

I unlock the door to my house and I noticed the house had an empty feeling once I entered. My dad probably went somewhere, who cares? Not me for sure.

I walk into the kitchen and I noticed this weird feeling that is approaching me. Like if I was lost or something.

I lean against the countertop and I look around. I then noticed why I am feeling like this. The new feeling of my mom not being here is starting to bug me.

I felt the tears sting my eyes, but I quickly take a deep breath and sigh.

"Its okay Lily, she is in good hands at the hospital, if she were to see you like this she would tell you to be strong no matter what." I say to myself and walk to my room where the small, wrapped box glitters from the light. I drop my bag and I sit on the edge of my bed.

I turn towards the small box and pick it up. I look at it and I feel a smile spread across my face. I gently start unwrapping it and I see a message on it.

To: Lily
From: Evan
'Hope you like it. :)'

I giggle at his little message. I open the box and it reveals another note. I grab it and it says..

'Let's go out for a walk at the park on Friday?' Text me the answer.

I look aside to he box still in my hand but something else was in it. My eyes widen at the sight if such a gift.

It was a silver necklace that says 'Remember'. I raise a brow at the thought of it but I was still shocked at the gift.

I pull out the necklace and I let it sparkle from the light. I literally wanted to scream but I had to keep my calm. I set the necklace back in the box and closed the box.

I grab my phone and instantly started typing him a text.

L- Omg! Evan I love the gift it's so beautiful. Thank you!

I hit send and I wait for him to reply, I can't believe all these years I have been trying to get him to Notice me and it has happened. I jump at my phone vibrating.

E- I am glad that you loved it, now what's your answer? :)

I smile idiotically and I just press my hand on my face.

L- Yes, my answer is yes.

I smile as I lay back on my bed, I am letting the butterflies continue their little party in my stomach because they cannot stop me from going with Evan to the park. I feel my phone vibrate and I read the text.

E- Awesome! Now, don't wear the necklace until Friday okay? See ya soon.

I smile and I set my phone down so it can charge. This day has been the best out of all my other days.

I then hear the front door bust open. The loud sound made me jump and I run to the living room. The door bolting open was my dad and it seems like he is...

"Lily..." He says in a stern voice. I look at him disgusted at how dirty he looks.

"What happened to you?" I ask and he looks at me with anger flushed in his eyes.

"Don't talk to me like that young lady." He says and I clench my fists.

"I am not a little girl anymore as you can see, I am a grown women who is almost turning 18 and when I do, I am leaving your sorry ass!" I say and I cover my mouth to what I just said.

The look that my father gives me was rage. He shuts the door with full force and walks towards me. I back away and I hit a wall.

"What did you just say?!" He says with a loud tone and I feel my heart racing. I am screwd, but its the truth, I am not small anymore I know how to defend myself, I have learned ever since Karina started to bug me.

"Y-You heard me! I ain't your little goody girl anymore who has always witnessed my mother being beaten by a bastard like you! I can't believe she stayed with you all these years, but she has stayed because she loved you! But in return you just beat her to the fucking ground!" I say and I feel a shock of pain coming from my left cheek.

I fall to the ground and I put my hand towards my cheek, it was warm. I look at my dad and he was filled with anger.

"Your gonna wish you didn't say that." He says and I stand up, feeling the tears in my eyes.

"Face it! You can't except the truth!" I yell and he punches me in the stomach. I felt the air come out of me. I lean against the wall as a scream couldn't escape my mouth.

I then felt pain going around my sides and arms. I wished it will all stop. Finally he stopped and let me breath. I was trying to catch my breath and I couldn't move because it hurt everywhere.

I wanted to call Evan or Sofia or at least one of the guys. I watch him go to the living room and sit peacefully on the couch. I slowly stand up and I slugglishly walk towards my room.

I enter, close the door and lock it. I walk towards my bed and I grab my phone and instantly dial Sofia.

"Hello?" Sofia answers.

"So-Sofia...Its me Lily..." I say and my voice sounded hurt.

"Lily? Are you okay?" She asks and I let out a sob.

"No Sofia I am not okay...My mom is in the hospital suffering, Karina is still a bitch like always...and my dad just beat the crap out of me." I say, sobbing towards the phone.

"Oh...Lil, everything is gonna be okay, tomorrow I will check you okay." She says and I sniff.

"Okay Sofi." I sigh and we stayed up all night talking.
