Chapter 18: Shopping

(Lily's POV)

Woke up peacefully again. Soothing sound of the birds chirping right outside my window, the calming touch of a sun ray was slowly making its way towards my face. Another quiet Saturday.

I stand up, stretch and made my way towards the bathroom to freshen up. A morning shower wouldn't hurt. As I undo my hair from a bun, I watch it all fall to my shoulders and smile at how the sun light was making it shine.

After my shower, I made my way towards my room and started searching for clothes. It will be hard since all I am wearing is a towel around me. I then changed into a new set of panties and a bra and put on a big shirt that reaches my thighs.

I searched through my closet and noticed how empty it is getting. I need to do some laundry tomorrow.

I picked out a floral tank top that had roses around it, a pair of jeans and an over coat that had the same design as jeans but in a little sweater. I put on my black and white converse and I started hearing my phone.

I got up after tying my shoes and checked who it was. I smile at the contact name.

Evan~ Have fun shopping today Lil. :)

Oh Evan, always making my days special.

Lily~ Thank you, same with you.

Evan and the guys are going prom shopping today too, but not at the mall like me and Sofia. I set my phone down so I can continue getting ready, Sofia and her mom are gonna pick me up at 10 and its 9:15.

I rushed back in the bathroom and started doing a single side braid. For makeup I decided to put on eyeliner with a small, curved wing at the end and mascara. For my lips I just applied lip balm. I sprayed on a little perfume and put on my small diamond earrings, their not real diamond but they shine when light hits them.

Finally, I heard honking outside which meant that they must've arrived. I quickly grabbed my small black bag and ran outside. I shut the door quietly, not wanting to wake my dad and locked it.

"Come on Lily! We ain't got time for waiting!" I roll my eyes at Sofia being impatient. Its 10 and we have the whole day to shop for our dresses. I suddenly remembered my phone, I left it on top of my drawer.

"Hold on! I forgot my phone!" I yell out to Sofia and her mom and quickly unlocked the door. As it opened I see that my dad wasn't on the couch anymore. I shrugged and ran into my room but found a large figure in there.

"What the hell?" I say and there he was, holding my phone, not moving a muscle.

"Where do you think you're going?" He asks me and I gulp.

"I am going prom dress shopping with Sofia and I just came to get my phone so can I have it?" I ask and he looks at me sternly. He really needs take a shower he smells.

I slowly walk towards him and yanked my phone away from his grip. I sigh in relief knowing that he didn't break it or anything.

"Alright, I am going. . .bye." I leave my room and hoped that he wouldn't do anything drastic. As I walked out of the house, I shut the door, locked it once again and walked towards Sofia's car.

"Sorry, had a hard time looking for my phone." I lied and they just giggle and we soon started driving away from my home.

The whole car ride towards the mall was comforting. Once and awhile Sofia's mom would say a joke and it was so cheesy that either way, it made me laugh. When we reached the mall parkings, Sofia's mom dropped us off at the entrance and told us to wait for her. We obeyed and sat on one of the benches that were set in front of the mall.

"I missed your mom, it's been a while since I have been at your house because of my dad being a big douche, my mom in the hospital, school and of course handling with Karina's bullshit." I fix my braid and fixed my beanie since it was slightly falling and Sofia sets her hand down on my shoulder.

"Listen to me Lilian, I am your bestfriend and my job is to help you survive through all these problems, today is the day for you to forget everything and just focus on having fun while searching for a prom dress and I don't want your 'but sofia, what if' excuses, today we are prom dress shopping alright!" She says while shaking my shoulder and I laugh.

"Alright Sofi, thanks for being there for me." I say and we hug each other.

"Always Lil, thats what best friends do right?" I nod at her question.

"You two ladies ready for some shopping?"

Me and Sofia smile with excitement and we all walked into the mall while our worries waited outside the door.

We have been searching through the mall and we finally found a place with gorgeous prom dresses. We checked it out and I instantly fell in love with a dress. I grabbed it to show Sofi and her mom but I stopped as I stared at the two of them laughing and acting silly with each other. It sorta makes me feel lonely since my mom is in the hospital and we can't have moments like these. I shake the thought out of my head and placed a smile on my face.

"Hey, look what I found!" They both look at the dress I picked and gasp in amazement.

"You have to try that on Lily! That dress looks beautiful." Sofia soon drags me into the fitting room. I took my time putting on the dress and when I look in the mirror I smile at the look of it.

"Alright, I am ready." I walk out of the dressing room and they both had their mouths wide open. Sofia got up and looked me up and down.

"Lily, this dress really suits you!" She hugs me and we both giggle.

"Well we found your dress, now its my turn."

(Evan's POV)

"Evan this suit will be perfect for you, but it needs a red bowtie, Lily did say that you need to get a suit that at least matches with a red bowtie." Marcel pulls me towards a black tuxedo and I nod my head in approval.

"This will do just fine now you guys need to find yours, Tyler have you found one that will match with a creamish bow?"I say and I walk towards Tyler who was still eyeing some suits.

"How about this one?" I say as I show him a grey tux, he nods and pats my back.

"We are settled." Tyler says but groans when David and Lui come for some help. I chuckle as we spent the whole day getting our tux and shoes.
