(Karina's POV)

I stormed into my house with Tania and Janet behind me, they were trying to calm me down while we were walking up the stairs towards my room but how can I keep calm with that dumb Lilian taking my spot as Evan's one and only.

As I entered my room, I dropped my bag and just sat down on the edge of my bed, thinking through everything. I hate Lily so much I just wish she never interfered.

"Karina? Are you alright?" Janet asks me and I hold my hand up so she can shutup. I am thinking long and hard for a plan but all I can do was let a tear roll down my cheek. I may be hard on people but I have a soft side.

"Why me!?" I yell out as I grab something from the top of my drawer and throw it across the room. The room was soon filled with a loud crashing noise and I sigh.

I stand up to pick up what I threw and I noticed that it was a picture of me, my mom and dad. I see Janet and Tania come help with the broken glass shardes. I take out the picture and throw away the broken picture frame.

"Karina please, calm down." Tania says as she throws away the sharp glass shards. I stare at the heartbreaking image of my family and set it down on the drawer. I live with my mom though, my dad left us for another women. He now has two daughters and a younger son with that lady. Ever since then, I became cold. My mom became a vet and it got me into animals, but still, the only animal I dislike is my dad but I miss him. . .a lot.

To be honest, I am jealous of Lily. She has both of her parents and she probably lives happily which is why I always try to ruin her days so she can feel my pain. She is probably really happy now since she is with Evan. I clench my fists at the thought and shut my eyes tightly.

Then an idea came to me, if Evan is attending the prom with Lily and his friends, I can try to think of something to take Evan away from Lily.

"I have an idea, we should go shopping tomorrow for our prom dresses. Prom is next Saturday right?" I ask the girls and they nod.

"Its settled then, prom shopping tomorrow."

(Lily's POV)

"Come on Lily! We gotta go shopping tomorrow!" Sofia tells me as I was laying on her bed. I giggle at her and sat up straight.

"How can I get a dress if I don't have money at the moment? Thankfully my uncle is helping me and my mom pay the house bill and such but other then that, I am broke!" I say and Sofia softens. She then scoots closer to me and sets her hand on my shoulder.

"Lily, what am I?" She asks me and I look at her with confusion.

"Uh, my best friend?" I question and we both laugh. She shakes me a little and looks at me straight in the eye.

"We are more then best friends Lily, we are sisters! You are family to me and my parents treat you like their own. My mom would love to pay for your dress and I will not take no for an answer." Sofia says and my jaw drops. I swear Sofia can be crazy but this has been the most craziest thing I have ever heard from her.

"Sofia! No you can't do that. I don't want your parents to waste money on me, I already felt bad for Evan buying me a lot a things and I had to beg him to stop, I just don't like it when people buy me things." I say and Sofia punches my shoulder playfully.

"Quit being a softy and come with me." Sofia stands up and pulls my arm towards her living room downstairs.

"Mom! Are you in the kitchen?" Sofia says and I smile.

"Yes sweetheart! Just finishing up dinner." We both sit at the little island by the kitchen and we look at her set what seemed like lasagna. She turns to the sink, washes her hands and dries then on her apron. She then turns to look at me and Sofia.

"Ah, Lily! So glad to see you, how have you been?" Sofia's mom asks me and I shrug.

"I am hanging in there." I say and she smiles.

"Well, would you like to stay for dinner? I made lasagna." I nod, accepting her offer and she pats my hand.

"Hey mom, so Prom is coming up next Saturday and I was wondering if you would like to come with us tomorrow and help us with finding our dresses." Sofia asks and her mom's face lit up with excitement.

"I would love to go with you two! I can't believe you two have grown big already." She says and starts fanning her eyes. Me and Sofia stand up and hug her.

"Mom, don't cry. I am always gonna be your little girl." Sofia says and her mom hugs us.

"The both of you are my little girls." We all giggle and part.

"So mom, we have one problem. Lily doesn't have money since she got fired from her job and her mother has been in the hospital for the last couple of months, then there is her father but let's not being him into the story." Sofia then wraps her arm around my shoulder and I chuckle with embarrassment.

"Well don't worry, I can help you Lily. No need to be shy to ask." I literally hugged her tightly and thanked her so many times.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you so much Ms. Lopez." She wraps her arms around me and chuckles.

"You are very welcome Lily."

Me and Sofia sat down again and chatted about our plans for tomorrow. We talked about what color we would get and so on. Tomorrow is gonna be amazing with these two lovely friends of mine.
