Chapter 19: Prom Night

(Lily's POV)

Today is the prom. . .I am extremely nervous for today but I know it's just a simple night that will be filled with dancing, and loud music. Prom starts at 6pm and ends at 11pm, which gives me time to do some chores. First I started to clean up my room and adjust some misplaced papers that were in my bag.

I checked my phone and saw that I had four messages. I unlocked my phone and checked to see who the messages are from and it showed two from Evan and two from Sofia. I clicked on Evan's messages first.

Evan~

Hey Lil! Can't believe it's the prom already, I can't wait to see how gorgeous you will look tonight.

Hope everything turns out okay for you when you are getting ready, see ya later!

I smile at Evan's kind words then started to reply to him.

Lily~

Thanks Ev, same to you! See ya at 5.

Evan is picking me up later and I insisted of taking the bus so he won't waste gas. Can you imagine that? A girl, wearing a fancy dress and is riding the bus to school. . .Yeah, I can't either. I then click on Sofia's messages.

Sofia~

Morning Lil! I am excited for today, are you?

Just to let ya know, and I didn't mean to ruin your day but I found out that Karina, Tanya and Janet are going.

That's one more thing worry about. If Karina goes, I know she is gonna be planning something. Whatever! Today is prom night and I am gonna have fun for once without any worries. Just me, Sofia and the guys.

I finished cleaning my room and went towards the bathroom until I heard a loud crash in the kitchen. I peek around the corner and it was my dad looking through the cabinets, he must've dropped a glass bottle. I see that he had ordered another pizza and I sigh in frustration. I leave him be and left to take a comforting shower that will wash all my worries away.

I was cleaning the house like if I had OCD, literally everything was dirty and sticky because of my dad's lazy ass days where he just eats, drinks, sleeps, and repeats every frickin day. I sigh as I finished cleaning the house and decided to start curling my hair for my fancy bun.

As some time flew by, I finished doing my hair and looked at the result. I smiled as I did a pretty good job. Now it's time for my nails. I am doing them the same color as my dress. Red-Maroon-ish color. Sofia was texting me how her mom is practically freaking out more than her. I giggle as I reread her text, which reminds me of my mom. Right now she could've been telling me if my dress needed to be ironed or if there was anything she can do to help me.

I came up with the thought of visiting her with my prom dress so she can see how I look. I smile as I couldn't wait to see her reaction. Gotta hurry if I don't want Evan to be waiting for me.

Two hours passed and I am still getting ready. I was adjusting the bobby pins that were in my hair so it wouldn't fall apart while I am with Evan and the rest. I double checked my nails to see if they didn't ruin from me touching things that may have ruined the nail polish. It was finally time for me to do my makeup and I had to choose between a creme eyeshadow or a maroon eyeshadow. I finally came up with the solution of using both.

I smile at myself in the mirror as I did my eyeshadow pretty well. I applied some liquid light maroon-ish lipstick so it sorta matched my dress and I was happy with my results.
