Chapter 22: Incomplete

(Lily's POV)

I woke up to the sweet smell of pancakes, and bacon. I open my still droopy eyes and look around to see my room the same as usual. I rub my eyes because they were still adjusting to the morning sunrise. As I was getting up, I hear my door open.

"Morning Lilybug, Lupe made breakfast." My uncle Kevin says and I smile at the nickname he made up for me. I then got happier knowing that I wasn't living with my crazy, abusive dad anymore. I actually have a family who cares and feeds me with love and of course food.

"How about you get ready for school and come join me in breakfast." He smiles and I nod as I start to pick out clothes. As my uncle leaves my room, I change into casual blue jeans, a black and white patterned tank top, black and white converse and a black overcoat. I check the time and it was 5:30, I still got time.

I went into the bathroom and fixed my hair in a messy bun, not wanting to be overexaggerated, then I applied on just simple mascara and eyeliner. As I finished brushing my teeth, spraying on some perfume and checking if anything was misplaced, I stepped outside of the bathroom then I was embraced by a gentle person.

"You look great today Lil." I hear her sniff my scent and sighs in relief.

"You smell great too." I laugh at my aunt Lupe. I am so grateful to have her and my uncle to watch over me now.

"Come on! You gotta stuff that empty stomach of yours, don't want my niece going to school without brain food." She pulls me into the living room and I catch my uncle sitting in the table with his plate and what seems to be my plate. I sit myself next to him and began eating the delicious food that my aunt has prepared for me.

"Looks like you haven't been fed food like this in a while." My uncle tells me and I blush in embarrassment. He soon chuckles and starts eating his food.

"It has actually, since my mom wasn't feeling well, she would usually wake up at about the time I leave which is at 6:30." I say as I take another bite of the crunchy bacon.

"Well, I am glad you enjoy it Lil because later I am making something you will surely love." My aunt says as she finishes drying off the clean plates.

"Hey! After school, I am picking you up so we can print those pictures out then maybe head out for some ice cream." My uncle says and I then felt a tear slide down my cheek. My uncle soon pressed a finger on my cheek and dried off the tear.

"S-Sorry, it's just. . .it's been so long since I was actually loved by someone close to me, like family. My mom was weak but her love was enough to make my days, this is exactly the same feeling I am getting and it makes me really happy." My uncle and my aunt look at each other and smile.

"We will always be here for you Lilybug." I smile at my uncle and hug him tightly.

"Thank you. . .the both of you." I look at both my aunt and uncle.

"Hey! Finish your food, I want you to be fueled up today." I giggle and continued eating my breakfast.

"Bye!" I say as I opened the door.

"See you later Lily! Have a great day at school." My aunt says and I get a pat on the shoulder by my uncle.

"Have a great day Lil." I smile at him and left out the door, down my front yard and onto the walkway that lead towards my school.

As I was at the front of my school, I catch Evan and Karina together. Evan was standing still while Karina was chatting to him and laughing though Evan wasn't showing any interest to what she was telling him.

I continued staring as Karina was happily marked next to him and as I was about to leave, she turns and catches me staring. She smiles evilly and pulls Evan's arm towards her. I sigh in such a sad tone and to my surprise, Evan turns around and catches my eyes. We were both stuck in a terrible trance of confusion and stress.

"Lily!" I hear next to me and I was soon pulled out of his spell by Sofia. I blink once and look up at my brunette friend. She smiles and pulls me towards Tyler and Craig. They both were smiling as I came closer to them.

"Hey Lil, how was your weekend?" Craig asks then he soon got elbowed by Tyler.

"Oh! I am sorry. . .I didn't mean to bring up the fact of your mother passing away." Craig says and Tyler facepalms. I let out a soft giggle and Craig was rubbing his arms.

"Lil, you know that we are here for you okay? We got each others backs." Sofia says and I nod understanding her words of comfort. Soon, the others came except Evan, of course he must've been trapped under the arms of Karina.

"I am sorry for your loss Lil and about your dad." Jonathan tells me and I smile.

"It's alright, it was bound to happen anyways but. . .I do miss her." I say and Jon hugs me tightly. I sigh in his arms as I feel that special bond between me and my friends.

I look at all of them around me but I sigh as I was feeling incomplete, Evan is the missing piece to my puzzle but I am still upset with him, plus we aren't dating anymore which takes this situation to a whole other level.

"Hey, if you're worried about Evan, just ignore it. He hasn't been talking to me or the rest of the guys all weekend because of Karina." Brock whispers in my ear and it just made me feel worse knowing that Karina has been controlling him from the beginning. The bell soon rings which let's us know that it's time for us to go to our first class of the day.

"See ya at lunch Lil." Sofia says and I nod and wave goodbye at the others. As I was walking towards my first class, I just remembered that Evan is with me in this class. I mentally curse myself for wanting him but my feelings were taking me to the right path.

As I walked in, there I saw Evan staring as if he was waiting for me to come in. Behind him I saw Tyler who was trying to tell me something. I squinted my eyes to understand what he was saying but couldn't quite catch up.

"Ignore him." Was what he mouthed and I nod as I sat down in the seat that was next to the cheater himself. I regret having this seat next to me open, he just had to come and choose this one.

"Lily. . ." His soft voice rang throughout my head but I just ignored him, feeling the urge to turn and look at his gorgeous face.

"Lily. . .Please talk to me. . ." I continue to ignore him and repeatedly looked up at the clock to keep track of when the homeroom bell was gonna ring and in any minute, it will.

"Lily, please I am begging you. . .you don't know how bad I feel everyday about that night, just please let me make it up to you." He says and I continued to give him the silent treatment. I then felt a warm touch on my left hand. I slowly turn and saw that Evan placed his hand on mine.

"Lily, please let me prove myself. . .I have been feeling terrible the past few days without you by my side." The bell soon rang and I sighed in relief as the teacher came in.

"Alright class, take out your homework." Evan soon takes his hand off of mine and followed the teachers instructions.

I feel like today is gonna be a "GREAT" day.
