Lauren's mouth dropped slightly, flattered at the statement which is, on the other hand, making me confused. I've noticed a glint of sadness in Emma's eyes and I couldn't fathom why. She flashed a small smile at Lauren before inviting us to sit with them. Alexander transferred to his sister's side and we sat in front of them.

A waitress came and she took our orders, her flirty glances at me not coming unnoticed by Lauren. When the waitress came back with the water Alexander asked for, she winked at me and I didn't mind it. As for Lauren who was gripping on my legs, tightened her hand on me and I looked at her in confusion.

She leaned in, starting to whisper on me but I tensed up when she bit on my earlobe, a devilish look on her eyes as she gazed up at the waitress. The waitress left immediately, evidently pissed. I smirked at Lauren, who in return flashed a triumphant smile on me, winking thereafter.

"That's my girl," I chuckled, letting my arm dangle around her shoulders, pulling her closer to me.

We heard someone clearing their throat and I blushed when I realized we weren't alone. I felt Lauren's hand searching for mine and I met her halfway, interlacing our fingers together.

"So, how's it in Miami?" Emma asked.

"It's fine," I smiled. "The temperature's different from here but I got used to it easily. You should try to visit sometimes. I'd show you the beach."

"I'd like that," she beamed. "Maybe we could go when we have some free time."

"How's it here in London?" I queried, the green eyed girl's head resting on my shoulder as she started playing with my fingers. My heart fluttered. "Do you have a boyfriend or something? How are you?"

"Oh, trust me, Alexander here doesn't want me having a boyfriend," she scoffed jokingly. "He don't want me getting hurt."

"That's cute," Lauren spoke. "My brother, Chris, he's also protective of me."

"I think it's just some sibling instinct, you know," Alexander defensed. "I mean, who would want your sister crying in the middle of the night because some asshole broke her heart?"

"Point taken," Emma chuckled. "I don't plan on having a boyfriend, though."

Then she gazed up at me with those eyes that come unreadable. They're saying something but I can barely understand what it is.

"Why not?" Lauren chirped.

Emma was silent at first. She took a deep breath and said, "I don't know. I guess I'm still waiting."

"Waiting for what?" I couldn't stop myself. I'm also curious.

She looked shocked, but managed to remain calmed as she speaks.

"For the right time?" She answered uncertainly. "Good things take time. Besides, I'm in no rush. I only like to go with the flow of life and see where it takes me."

Before someone could even speak, the waitress came back with our orders but she didn't entertain me anymore. Good thing because she might not want to get her throat ripped by my girlfriend.

While pigging out on our breakfast, Emma started talking about how she missed the old us. She shared the things we did when we were younger to Lauren. I noticed something, though—Alexander's constant stealing of glances at Lauren.

"Do you remember Clarke?" Emma suddenly asked.

"Clarke Wilson?" I made sure.

"Yeah," Alexander answered, his eyes moving back and forth from mine and to the green eyed girl beside me. "He owns a bar in town. We thought that you'd want to come with us tonight."
