Laying on my bed, I decided not to text Lauren first; feeling like I couldn't do this alone. But I succeeded to gather all the courage that I have and sent Lauren a text message.
Y: Hey, can I call you?
I waited for a few moments, scrolling through my Twitter timeline and tweeted first.
"I wish this trip isn't all bad."
It wasn't really that important but it still got at least hundred retweets and favorites from my followers. I opened the people who retweeted it and noticed that some of them are from Miami. They're awake in 4 in the morning? A new text message caught my attention and I quickly opened it—it was from Lauren.
L: Not right now.
Y: I thought we're going to talk about it?
L: Yes, but Dad's still discussing something important to us.
Y: Is it bad?
L: I don't know. I'll call you later.
Y: Babe, I'm sorry.
L: I know.
I felt my chest contracting from the pain I'm feeling right now. I know this isn't a major problem between us but I hate it when Lauren's giving me the cold shoulder. It's making me feel like I'm not important anymore and she's losing all her interest on me. Call me overreacting but I don't want to lose her. I got attached to her so much that it's impossible to think of a future without her. I don't know what I'd do when she isn't around and it seems like I always want her with me. Sometimes, when I'm talking with her through phone, we're talking like we haven't seen each other for months. I'm even missing her although she's just right beside me. I'm craving for her too much-this is how in love I am with Lauren.
Y: Call me later. I love you.
While waiting for Lauren, I tried distracting myself by talking to Emma since she's the only one who'd understand me. I dialed her number and got an answer after 3 rings.
"Hey, are you alright?"
"Hey," I smiled, appreciating how concerned she sounded when I'm not even telling her anything. "Uh, yeah, I'm fine, definitely. Just, um, can I talk to you? I mean, are you busy or something?"
"No, not really," she replied and I heard shufflings on the other side. "What's wrong?"
"It's just... Lauren got upset with me," I sighed, rubbing the bridge of my nose. "After the game, I made a mistake of telling her that it seemed she's liking the attention Alexander's giving her, and Lauren—she's sensitive when I'm doubting her. For her it's like I don't trust her anymore. And then I said that we're going to talk about this but she said she's doing something important and she'll call me later so, I called you for help. I just don't like it when she's giving me the cold shoulder."
