"Hmm. Someone got here before us!" Callie whispered in a sing-song tone. We all , or at least I, gazed in horror down at the victim. He was wearing all black, assuring the four that he'd been on our side. Helix came up behind us on his phone, and ran into me, resulting in the tripping over that same unfortunate person stupid enough to 'stumble' through the wood-and-steel, thousand-pound door, by me, of course. Callie caught me with one hand, the other reaching into a pocket for her phone. By the time I finally made it to my feet, she was texting back feverishly, eyebrows creased, tongue between her teeth, thumbs moving a million miles a minute. Helix looked at his phone again, after which throwing a reproving glare at Callie. She aimed a sardonic smile in his direction, along with an aura of dishonorment. (Yeah, I know we're all thinking, "Dishonor on you, dishonor on your family, dishonor on your cow!" from Mulan, but let's stick to the subject.) We continued through the house. The first guard, Brei Ida hit with her silent but deadly throwing star. The next one, everyone looked at me. I agreed, and came up behind him, not causing any disturbance, since I'm so short, and knocked him out with one roundhouse kick to the head. Don't worry, I took off my shoes. Callie whistled softly. We rounded the corner to find nothing but a door with a keypad. Carter giggled and stepped up to the door. She tapped in the passcode and they slid open automatically. We all stared at her, and with good reason, too.

"What?" she demanded, "So I look through my dad's codes files every once in a while. Get over it and be grateful." she stuck her nose in the air and stalked through. There was a second series of clicks, most likely a password for a second door. Callie and Brei Ida followed.

"I had an easier way to do that you know." Callie grumbled. Helix snorted and kissed the top of my head before placing a sturdy hand between my shoulderblades and urged me forward.

"What was her idea?" I questioned carefully, and he laughed.

"To fry the circuit board. Carter's way was probably smarter." I knew they were both standing there, and I smiled up at him.

"Guess what?" I smirked at him, "I know they know." He spun around, facing Carter and Callie with an embarrassed expression on his face. Carter was grinning, while Callie wore a sour expression.

"Gee, I had no idea you felt that way about me." they harmonized, though with two completely different meanings. Carter looked enthusiastic that Helix had liked one of her ideas, and Callie was miffed, as Helix had negatively commented on her theory of wiring and electrical points. Brei gave a ghost of a smile. "Screw secrets, I'm kissing him." I thought to myself, right before laughing at the helpless expression on his face, throwing my arms around his neck, and kissing him on the cheek. Callie, Brei, and Carter all raised their eyebrows, and Selina blushed maroon.

"Wow, when did this start?" Callie inquired sweetly. Carter snorted a little at that one. Callie and Brei Ida gave her a funny look.

"Sorry. I was just gonna say, that has been going on since they met. Then again, they have been fighting all night. Well, morning now." her last statement seemed to bring everyone else back to their senses.

"It's nearly light out! Dammit Meredith, why'd you have to kiss him?" Callie complained, and ran off down the hallway. Brei, Selina, and Carter followed in suit, but when I tried to go, Helix grabbed my arm and held me back.

"You know we'll never live that out, right?" he said it sternly, but there was a playful edge to his strict tone.

"Yeah, I know, but I'm not going to be here forever. I'm leaving in about a week." I reported sadly. I heard a bang and a yelp. We took one look at each other and bolted down the hall to aid the people we had just unintentionally sent on a suicide mission. I threw the door open, but no one was there. Wrong door. I pressed one ear to the wall, and opened the door to my far left. Everyone seemed fine, except, of course, for the murderous villain they had just killed. I glanced at the tyrant, and was confused.

"What did you do to him? None of you have a gun, and Brei still has her throwing stars." I wondered.

"Oh, I shocked him with the electrum tip of my staff." she explained, patting one of the staffs that hung in an X across her back.

"Well, I suppose it's a job well done." Callie shrugged, and we walked out together, me feeling like I was in a kinky action movie.
