Hey Mom

I am enormously nervous. I'm walking next to Helix behind my mom and Chad. Everyone else is behind. The house is only two blocks away and the weather is extremely nice, so we decided to walk there instead of driving. So, let me tell ya how it went.    We walked up to this enormous house. There's a fairly old lady sitting on the porch, which I'm guessing would be my mother. I ran in front with Thalias and opened the gate. A man came out, but he looked younger. A little boy toddled after him-my nephew. The little boy ran up to me. His father called him back, and I looked up at him. A picture popped up in the theater in my mind. Callum was his name, he was 33.    "Callum?" I asked timidly. He looked at me. Then realization dawned on him.    "Thalias?" he asked. I almost laughed.    "No, I'm- well, mom didn't name me, so now my name is Asia. You might want to ask her." I suggested. He shook his head.    "No way. You ask her yourself if you really want to know what she was going to name you." huh. He sounds just like Juarez. So I went to ask her instead.    "Hey mom." I said. She looked up but didn't recognize me through her sunglasses.    "Who are you? Why do you call me your mother?" she asked. I reached over and took her sunglasses off for her. She looked up again, and the effect was slow but effective. She took her feet down from the table they were sitting on and stood up. I was almost taller than her, if so just barely.     "Thalias?" she said.    "Why does everyone keep saying that!?" I demanded "No, I'm the daughter you never named. My name is Asia now."     "I never had a daughter I didn't name." she said slowly. "They must not have heard me." she paused, "Your name was Meredith." she admits. I think for a minute.    "I'm changing my name to Meredith." I announced to everyone. Both moms smiled. Callum grinned, and his son, Gracin, screamed and clapped his little hands. And she invited all of us inside for some lemonade and cookies.
