I slowly walked into the ally way, acting nervous as well as pretending I was lost. I left myself stumble and slow down as I began rummaging for a secret nothing in my bag. Hearing two sets of footsteps coming around the corner, I smirked to myself. It was just as I had hoped. Putting on a scared expression, I turned to see two men with wicked grins on their faces.

"Hey doll face, you lost?" the taller one sneered as he slowly started approaching me.

"Please don't hurt me." I begged, my voice wavering intentionally.

"Oh sweet cheeks, we're not going to hurt you. Much." Snarled the second man.

"Please, I'll give you one more chance to get out of here." I begged again. The two men laughed and came closer.

Well I did warn you, I thought as I dropped my bag on the ground and narrowed my eyes. The familiar feeling of ice began running down my hand. Forming into a small blade in my fist. I held it behind my back, keeping the two men oblivious to the sudden danger they were in.

Still smirking with his friend, the closer man grabbed me and pushed me against a wall. I looked at his face and smirked back. Before he could come any closer, I sent the blade of ice straight into his chest, causing him to stumble backwards and collapse on the ground.

His friend stood shocked, and before he could even make a noise I whipped around and pulled the blade across his throat.

I remained emotionless as the two bodies drained of life. Quickly rummaging through their pockets, two wallets and a set of car keys. Good score.

The dark and empty street provided good protection as I left the still warm bodies and went in search of the car that matched the key. With the click of a button and a flash of headlights, I strolled over to the vehicle. Acting like it was my own, to not attract attention.

Sitting in the old crappy car, I emptied the wallets of their money and threw the now useless pieces of leather out the window. Before driving away from the crime scene as fast as I could.

I sighed as sudden guilt washed over me. Those guys were creeps, I tried to reassure myself, and they had it coming.

My mind wandered to the many others I had killed over the past thirty years. I tried to only kill those who wouldn't be missed. Their money was my only source of income.

Don't get me wrong. I tried settling down and getting a job but it wasn't long before someone would get a little too curious and come sniffing around my life. Then I would up and move again. Ripping myself away from any friendships that could have or were forming.

So here I was, living on my own in the stupid world where it was becoming harder and more exhausting to run and hide.

Depressing, I know. But it wasn't all bad. I got to travel. Earth was amazing, so many different cultures and beliefs on one little planet. But it wasn't home, and that's where I wanted to go more than anything. Where ever that could be.

The lonely stretch of road was the perfect place to dwell on the past. But a clap of thunder jolted me back into reality. I looked up to the sky and saw a circle of dark clouds forming and several bright lights flickering behind them. In mere seconds the clouds split and down from them shot a column of light that landed on the road right in front of me.

I slammed on the brakes and watched in awe as the light displayed all hues of colour. A shadow fell down the column and as soon as it hit the ground the beam of light shot back into the sky and disappeared. I stared at the figure that now lay lifeless on the road. I waited silently for it to move but there was no such luck.

Slowly getting out of the car, I approached the figure with caution.

It looked like a man.

Kneeling next to him, I could see he was unconscious and bleeding from a deep wound in his shoulder. I looked around; wishing someone else would turn up and deal with this problem.

Leaving him doesn't sound like a bad idea, no one will know I - no. You've already killed two people today, lets not add to the toll.

Calming myself I placed my hand over the wound and sent a thin layer of ice to cover and stop the bleeding. For a moment I thought I saw his skin turn a deep blue colour but it only lasted a second before I blinked and it returned to normal.

Heaving the man over my shoulders, I trudged to the car and lay him on the backseat. He'll be okay. I thought as started the car and drove over the still sizzling tar of the road.

It wasn't long before I pulled into a crappy motel, located in what felt like the middle of nowhere, and paid for the room.

Making sure no one was looking, I heaved the man inside and dumped his body on the bed. I sighed and adjusted his body so that he was comfortable. I felt emotionally drained.

Killing two men and having the sudden responsibility of a strange man who was dressed like he just came from a costume party did not signal a great day.

Giving my feet a rest, I plopped down on the depressed looking couch and turned on the TV.

I watched as the anchorwoman informed the late night audience about the discovery of the body of a woman. Tomorrow night it'll probably be the faces of the two men I had killed early this evening. I sighed and tried to push the guilt from my mind, and instead focused on where I was going to get another car.

My thoughts were interrupted by a quite moan that escaped the lips of the man that lay on the bed. I got up and sat down beside him, grabbing his hand and giving it a comforting squeeze. His eyes opened for a moment and the intense colour of green bore into me before they fluttered shut and he slipped back away from the world and into unconsciousness.
