Back to Skadi's POV.

The cold, dark cell reflected my mood perfectly. I sighed as I rested my head against the brick wall, and prayed silently that Loki had managed to get out. But my prayers where soon cut short as the sound of chains clanging broke my concentration. The cell door beside me opened up, and Loki was tossed to the ground like no more than a rag doll. He was weak and badly beaten.

I waited till the guards had disappeared before stepping towards the bars that separated our cells.

"Loki." I said as I reached through the bars helped him into a sitting position.

"Skadi, I'm so sorry." He whispered.

"Don't worry about it. Now rest." I answered quietly, as he leaned back against the bars and closed his eyes. I leaned on the opposite side of the bars beside him and closed my eyes. Darkness enveloped me and I watched the series of images flash behind my eyelids.

A crappy motel room, Loki's injuries, Thor, and a cliff. And the plan to get into Asgard.

I breathed heavily as I tried to stop the rush of memories, but they didn't stop coming.

I watched people dance in the city streets, and saw Thor in the main hall while I was being escorted by a disguised Loki. The prison break and the chamber of precious weapons and objects, along with the fight between Thor's loyal friends and us.

And the kiss.

My eyes snapped open and the memories finally settled in my mind, like they had never left. Loki slept soundly behind me, his breathing keeping an even pace.

I stood up and began pacing back and forth. I concentrated on trying to work out what happened after the kiss, but there was nothing, only waking up in the hospital bed. It was the strangest feeling, like I was the same person, but I had completely changed within the space of a second.

I broke into Asgard with Loki?! What was I thinking?

It suddenly explained why my mother wanted Loki and I so badly. If the two of us had done it before, we could surely and easily do it again. We could go further into the castle than any of Hel's other henchmen. We could get close to the weapons room, and even closer to Odin.

But the Avengers wouldn't trust me now? Especially after I just abandoned Steve in Helhiem.

Just great Skadi, you are probably the winner of making bad decisions.

Frustration boiled up inside me, and like a three year old with a tantrum, I kicked the wall pathetically. Little fragments of ice spurted out onto the wall, reminding me of my lack of control over my magic.

Loki groaned and stood up, rubbing his temple as he did so. I just watched, not saying a word. I leaned back against the wall and let my mind wander. Loki began pacing, clearly as frustrated as I was.

I thought about trying to escape, but there was no point. Hel probably had her whole army around the castle. I sunk towards the floor.

How are we going to get out of here?

I sat crossed-legged, watching Loki pace slowly, looking like he was concocting some sort of plan in his head.

"What are you thinking?" I asked after a few minutes of silence.

"I'm trying to plan a way out of here." He replied without looking at me.

"And what have you got so far?"

He didn't reply.

"I'll take that as not good." I muttered. "You know, getting out of here is probably nearly impossible."

He sighed and stopped pacing. "There has to be some way to get out of here."

"When did you become such the optimist?" I said sarcastically.

"When you became the pessimist." He replied without skipping a beat. I death stared him in reply.

"Well Hel probably has her whole army around the place, so even if we got out of the castle, we would have to fight off them. And I don't know about you, but I feel like that would be a fast way to end up dead." I said, still glaring at him.

"We don't need to get out of here." Replied Loki, and I gave him a confused look. "If Hel wasn't going to use us for some other purpose we would be dead already. She is going to unlock the cell doors for us, we just need to figure out a way out from there."

"From there?" I said, standing up and walking over to the bars between our cells. "We will either be surrounded by hundreds of guards or under mind control from the infinity stone. There is no opportunity." I shouted.

"Well then what do you suggest?" Loki growled, approaching the bars and taking an intimidating stance.

"Nothing! There is nothing we can do." I replied, my voice growing weak. "I can only hope that Steve to my message seriously and warned the others."

Loki looked confused. "You gave the Captain a message?"

"Yes. That's why I was in the library. I needed the book to know how to travel into someone's subconscious. Thankfully it didn't take to long to learn. So I was able to travel into Steve's mind and warn him, but whether he actually listened to me is a whole other matter." I explained.

"Could you do it again?" Asked Loki, a plan formulating behind his eyes.

"I guess so, but Steve attacked me last time. I don't know if he won't attack me again."

"What about someone else? Like Thor?" He questioned.

"I don't know. I was friends with Steve, it was easier to find him."

"I'll help you find him." Said Loki. "What doyou have to do?"
