This chapter is a bit boring and I do apologise, but I had to get some information down and give Skadi's mother a bit more of an appearance. Sorry again, but thanks for reading!

Images. Flickering rapidly from one to the next. Some familiar, some not.

A column of light, Loki, a car and a patterned circle burned into the road, and a shitty motel room.

The scene wriggled its way into my mind, finally freeing itself from its restraints. I gasped as I woke up.

I remember! Oh my gosh I remember.

I smiled to myself, as I lay back down. I know it's not everything, but at least it's a start. I was so distracted by the new memories replaying in my head; I hadn't even realized where I was until the chamber door opened and in walked my mother. She was smiling sweetly and carrying a tray of food.

"How are you feeling, snowflake?" She asked as she placed the tray on the bedside table and sat down beside me.

"Better." I smiled back as she gently brushed a loose strand of hair behind my ear. I sat up and looked into her eyes. My smile faded and she gave me a questioning look.

"Why did you leave me alone on Earth? I don't want to dwell on the past, but I have to know." I whispered, my voice cracking slightly.

"I didn't have a choice." She replied, her voice also a whisper. "We were being hunted, your father and I, we stayed on earth for a few years with you. But when we saw that you could protect yourself, we knew you would be safer without us." Pausing momentarily, a memory flashed behind her eyes before she continued on. "But once we left earth, we were attacked. Your father gave his life to save me. That's why I want Odin dead. He sentenced him to death with out true evidence or reason. It's only fair."

"An eye for an eye." Was the only thing I could say.

"Exactly, I knew you would understand. My smart and brave little girl." She smiled and kissed my forehead. I breathed in her perfume as she leaned close to me. The scent was sweet and brought back the memories of a simpler life. A life that I wished I could return to but one I knew I would never see again.

"Now, I want you to eat up. We have a lot of work a head of us and you're going to need all the strength you can muster. So eat up, clean up, and show up in the hall in thirty minutes." She ordered, but not in a harsh way.

I rolled my eyes, but smiled as she walked towards the door, giving me a quick wink before she closed it behind her. I felt a feeling that had been absent for a long time. Content sweet and blissful content. Finally, out family could become one again. Although I didn't agree with everything my mother was doing, I didn't want to stop her. She had made a valid point in my opinion, and once she had Asgard, she could go back to being my mother.

I didn't dwell on the thought for much longer. Hungrily gobbling down the food on the tray, I jumped out of bed and gazed at my freshly cleaned clothes hanging in the wardrobe. Minutes later I was checking my appearance in the mirror. My cheekbones had become a lot more prominent after not eating properly for the past few days, but my cheeks now had a little colour back in them.

I closely assessed the cut I had received on my forehead from the fall.

That's going to leave a scar.

After being distracted by picking the scab, I decided I was finally ready to see the 'genius' plan my mother had concocted. Stepping out of the warmly lit room, the cool air of the corridor wrapped around me as I wandered down the hall in search of my mother. The faint sound of chatter echoed down the hallway. Following the noise, I entered a grand hall. In the middle of the room, my mother stood at a large table loudly discussing something while pointing to a map that lay on the table.
