My eyelids flickered open as my memory recalled last night's events. My muscles ached, and I began to regret sleeping on the couch. Glancing at the cheap alarm clock, I realised it was too early to be awake.

Yet sleep deserted me as my bladder needed emptying. Pushing myself off the couch, I slowly waddled into the small bathroom. Looking at myself in the mirror as I sat on the toilet, I could see my long, almost white hair had become one big matted ponytail. However my eyes looked more vibrant, almost an electric blue colour. My thoughts wandered to the man on the bed and his eyes.

Those piercing green eyes. A groan from the other side of the door snapped my back into reality. I quickly finished my business and opened the door to see the man sitting up in the bed, playing with his stitches. I walked over and lightly smacked his hand away. He gave a surprised look.

"It took me forever to do that, don't you touch it until it's healed properly." I scolded.

He continued to express his shocked face. "Do you know who I am?" he asked.

"Should I?"

"Don't you talk to me like that." He growled, while attempting to stand up. But he let out a moan and fell back on the bed clutching his shoulder.

I sighed. "Here." I said as I put my hands over the stitches. He didn't try to fight me as I sent the ice flowing through my fingertips and around the stitches. "That should numb it for a while."

He stared at the thin layer of ice now covering his shoulder. He looked at me, slightly confused. I stared back at him for a moment. His dark hair was more vibrant against his fair skin.

"You're not mortal?" He asked rhetorically.

"Considering you fell out of the sky, I would say you aren't either." I paused and watched his face as he smirked and gave a slight nod in agreement. "Do you think you're well enough to stand?"

He nodded his reply and slowly stood, using the bed to steady himself. He was almost a foot taller than me, even while he was hunched over.

I grabbed his shirt and jacket, and handed them too him. Eager to get on the road, I stood impatiently as he struggled to pull the shirt over his head. Admittedly, this was probably a very difficult task with a sore shoulder. Losing patience, I walked over and tugged shirt over his head and helped him pull his arms through. He winced as the shirt slid over his wounds.

"Sorry" I said hurriedly, "But the quicker we get moving the better."

Within minutes we were driving again in the stolen car. I took off down the road and onto the highway, heading out of the small town and into the lonely stretch between cities.

"So what's your name?" I piped up after some awkward silence. He pondered the thought before finally deciding I wasn't a threat.

"Loki." He replied, not looking at me.
Loki... The name sounded familiar... Within the second a lightbulb lit up inside my head.

"Loki? From Asgard? Aren't you supposed to be in prison?" I asked. He didn't look at me, but nodded after a moment of hesitation.

"Well, I probably should be as well but hey, here we are." I shrugged, not sure what I should do. Driving with a universe class criminal wasn't a situation I was accustomed too. But I decided against my better judgment, you never know, this could be fun. There were a few more moments of awkward silence, before he broke them this time.

"And what name do you go by?" He asked with a certain formality to his voice.

"Skadi." I replied. His face fell for a moment, like he knew something I didn't. I ignored it and focused on the road. After a while I realised I was driving back the way I had come last night. I have no idea why, but I think part of me wanted to see the burnt road again.

I noticed we had begun to approach the spot where I had found him yesterday. Except this part of the highway was surprisingly more crowded than the rest. There were half a dozen expensive black cars parked around a large circle that had formed in the ground. Even from a distance, the circle's patterning looked alien. We drove past on a path that was marked a considerable amount of meters away. We made it through without even a second glance from the men, however Loki looked extremely nervous as he sunk lower into the seat.

I smirked. "Old friends?"

He shot me a glare and I laughed. "So what are doing here on earth?" I asked, trying to sound casual.

"I don't think it concerns you." He replied his voice low. I sat quiet for a moment.

"What ever it is, I want in." I finally said. This time it was his turn to laugh.

"In on what?"

"Whatever your plan is."

"No." He said abruptly.

"Why not? I could be a valuable asset." I replied, making my voice whine like a child's.

"Why do you want in?"

"I have a deal. I'll help you do whatever it is that you do. If you take me to Asgard." I declared.

"And if I don't?" He asked.

"I'm sure those "friends" of yours would be happy to see you." I replied with a smug grin. He shot me another glare, but he knew he didn't have a choice. He looked defeated and nodded.

"Alright, but if you dare try and cross me. I will kill you." He threatened.

"I don't doubt that you will." I muttered to myself. "So how did you get that-um-injury?" I asked, running my fingers across my shoulder in the same shape as his wound. He smirked and looked at the window.

"I had a disagreement with some Frost Giants, and they don't take to kindly to us gods." He huffed.

"Frost Giants?"

"They are these big, blue creatures, with terrifying red eyes." I laughed, and somehow couldn't help but imagine giant, evil smurfs. I wiped the image from my mind.

"So what exactly were you disagreeing about?"

He thought about it for a moment. "I wanted them to help me with a 'delicate' situation in Asgard." He confessed. I raised my eyebrow, and waited for him to continue. He saw my confused look and sighed.

"Okay, maybe it wasn't that delicate. I needed someone to help me take Asgard and it turns out that the few allies I thought I had, didn't feel the same way." I was surprised he told me that, but I think he knew he could kill me if I told anyone.

"Why are you trying to take over Asgard? I thought you were trying to take over earth?" I asked confused.

"If I take Asgard, then it will be much easier to take the rest of the universe."

"Go big or go home, right?" I joked. He gave me a weird expression.

"Asgard is my home." He replied confused, and I couldn't help but laugh. The car fell silent after that, except for the calming hum of the engine.
