Chapter Seventeen

Let me swoon over you

"I'm pregnant."

"Cool."

"Cool?"

"Yeah. Cool. Explains why you've been so goddamn hormonal. I mean damn Alex, I know that you haven't seen your baby daddy for like two weeks and all... but seriously, you're supposed to be an adult and you're crying like a baby who got his candy taken away." Jonah grumbled, picking at his food as he spoke.

"You shouldn't swear. You're only sixteen." I said quietly, completely ignoring his remark as I fed E.J. his breakfast. Jonah and I were the only ones in the kitchen, the rest of our family somewhere else in the house.

"F ucking fight me." Jonah says, making me look at him with a somewhat surprised expression. Jonah had been in a mood ever since we'd come back home. He barely talked to anyone and when he did it was usually

"Dad's gonna ground you if you keep that up." I pointed out, pointing at Jonah with the spoon I was using to feed E.J. Jonah just snorts, shaking his head before he stands up from the table.

"I'd like to see him try. I'm Daddy's favorite. He's not gonna ground me because I learned big boy words." Jonah said, once again earning a startled expression from me. I didn't get why he was being like this, I didn't understand what had crawled up his ass and died.

"What's your problem?" I finally asked, putting down the jar of baby food for just a second. E.J. didn't like that though, letting out an annoyed shriek.

"I don't know what you're talking about. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go lock myself in my room." Jonah said, already walking out of the kitchen. I just let out a soft sigh, knowing better than to go after him. If Jonah was angry, it was best to leave him alone. He often said and did things he regretted.

"Da." E.J. said, pouting a little as he reached for the jar I had just set down. I smiled softly at him before picking it back up.

"Da." E.J. whined, refusing to eat now. I shook my head as I looked at him, wondering why it was that he suddenly didn't want to eat. Just two seconds ago he was all for it.

"What? Daddy isn't here, kid." I said quietly, picking him up from his high chair. E.J. didn't seem to like that either, squirming in my arms.

"Da." E.J. whined yet again, reaching over my shoulder for something. I jumped a little when E.J. was taken out of my arms, turning around to see Oliver smiling softly at me.

"You dick, you scared me." I said quietly, smacking his chest softly before I returned his smile. Oliver grinned as I leaned down to kiss me.

"Surprise. Your mum told me you were here, so I figured I would come pick you guys up." Oliver said after he pulled away.

"How long have you been standing there?" I asked him, suddenly feeling nervous that he'd heard Jonah and I's conversation. It wasn't that I didn't want Oliver to know, I just wasn't ready to tell him quite yet. Things were still pretty rocky after what happened a few weeks ago, even if we weren't going to admit it.

"Long enough to know that Jonah's your dad's favorite, which I can see. They both have the same sense of humor." Oliver says, shrugging  a little when I rolled my eyes. My parents walked in that point, a somewhat annoyed expression on Mum's face and a rather bright smile on Dad's. You could just tell that he'd cracked one of his jokes.

"You're impossible, Harry. I swear to god." Mum grumbled, not even bothering to ask Oliver if he could have E.J. before he grabbed the baby from his arms. E.J. didn't seem to mind though, having got his Oliver fix in.

"At least you can say you di-"

"Don't. I will divorce you right here and right now if you finish that sentence Harry Styles. I am not kidding." Mum said, glaring at Dad who just held up his hands in an "I surrender" sort of manner.

"I'm just saying the obvious. You did th-"

"Harry."

"Don't make me tell the chicken joke, Niall." Dad returned Mum's glare, crossing his arms over his chest as he does so. I was trying not to laugh, finding my parents bickering to be a little comical.

"It's not a joke when you tell the punch line first, Harry." Mum points out, looking away from Dad now and turning his attention on E.J. His scowl faded and was now replaced with a smile, but Dad's scowl just deepened.

"Oliver, why'd the chicken cross the road?" Dad asks, turning to look at Oliver.

"Don't answer that, Oliver." Mum says, but he doesn't look at Oliver. Oliver looked like a deer caught in headlights now, which I found pretty funny as well. I never really understood why he was so awkward around my parents, especially with the fact that he grew up around them.

"Don't listen to him. He's just trying to rain on my parade." Dad says, shooting a look towards Mum before looking at Oliver expectantly.

"I..."

"Why'd the chicken cross the road?" Dad asked again, his gaze making Oliver extremely nervous. I shouldn't have found it as funny as I did, but I was trying my hardest not to laugh.

"Why?" Oliver finally said, biting down on his bottom lip.

"To get to the idiot's house. Knock, knock." Dad was smirking now, not even noticing the fact that Mum wasn't paying any attention to him.

"Who's there?" Oliver said quietly, his voice still a little shaky as he spoke.

"The chicken." Dad deadpans before bursting out into laughter. His laughter made E.J. also burst into a fit of the giggles, which in turn made my smile grow wider.

"You're an idiot." Mum says after a moment, rolling his eyes before walking out of the room. Dad was still smirking as he chased after him.

"Yeah, well at least I'm your idiot."

I miss writing Shiver Narry....

They were my life for like a year and now I'm writing their kids...

But I don't get to use the idiot line as often anymore, so I cry.

I miss them.

Sad. sad.

Anyways, the song in the multimedia is called Swoon and it's by Beach Weather. They're a new band that's touring with The Maine... But I have the song stuck in my head and like it makes me want to write a stripper AU every time I f ucking listen to it. So yeah....

That's all.
