Chapter Twenty
My heart dropped and I fell for you
"Da." E.J. squealed, clapping his hands together as he looked up at Oliver.
"Eli." Oliver cooed, grinning as he picked up E.J. off the floor. E.J. started to giggle when Olly rubbed his nose with his and he tried to grab Oliver's face. I just watched from my place in the kitchen where I was cleaning up E.J.'s breakfast off his high chair. He had gotten a little too excited this morning when he found out he was getting bananas. I looked away from the two of them for a moment, finishing up cleaning. After I finished, I walked into the front room where the two of them still were. E.J. was still giggling as Oliver pulled various faces at him. I smiled fondly at them before sitting down on the couch.
"Do you think we could convince your parents to take Eli for the night?" Oliver suddenly asks, turning his attention away from E.J. who let out a whine of protest.
"I don't think they need much convincing... But why?" I asked, laying down on the couch.
"We haven't had a night to ourselves for a while, I want to take you out on a proper date." Oliver says, shrugging before turning his attention back to Eli. I smiled softly, the idea of a night out sounding more than alright with me.
"I'll give my mum a call."
-----------------
A few hours later, Oliver and I were sitting at the same fancy place he'd taken me for my birthday last year. It wasn't much different than the last time, reminding me of old times when it was just Oliver and I without any problems... just us. Oliver was sitting across from me, a bright smile on his face as his left hand held onto my right. He wasn't even looking at the menu, which in turn made me giggle a little.
"You know, you could just take a picture. It would last longer if you did." I teased, putting my menu down for just a moment.
"Why would I want a picture when I have the real thing right in front of me?" Oliver's smiled grew as a faint blush found its ways on my cheeks.
"A picture is worth a thousand words."
"And you're worth far more than that..."
"You're being rather cheesy today, do you mind if I ask why?" I asked, picking up my menu back up. I wasn't really looking at it though. I was hiding behind it, the blush on my cheeks going even redder for some reason. I was personally blaming the extra hormones running through my body.
"Am I not allowed to be cheesy? Last I checked it wasn't against the law."
"It's not, you're just being far more cheesier than normal is all." I mumbled, shaking my head as Oliver takes my menu away.
"We should get married." Oliver says, making me choke on the breath I was taking. I stared at him wide eyed, completely taken aback that he'd said that. Oliver was surprising me a lot lately.
"Wh-What?"
"We should get married. I mean, that's the next step isn't it? We're raising a family together Alex, it's only a matter of time before we get married... So why don't we just get married tonight? I can pull a few strings and we can get married in Vegas." Oliver says, as if it's the most obvious thing in the entire world. I am still looking at him disbelief, unable to comprehend what he was saying for a moment.
"We can't just fly to Vegas and get married, Oliver." I said, finally able to form a proper sentence. Oliver's grin faded, a frown replacing it almost instantly.
"Why not?"
"Because for one, my dad will kick your ass... and for two, my mum will kick mine. Besides, I don't want to get married in Las Vegas, let alone by some Elvis impersonator surrounded by prostitutes or anyone along those lines. If we're going to get married, we're going to do it right."
"So you'll marry me?" Oliver's grin was back, making me roll my eyes as I grabbed my menu from his hands.
"I didn't say that. I said IF, not when." I said quietly, actually looking at the menu now.
"Will you marry me, Alex?"
"Oliver, I'm trying to decide what I want to eat." I sighed, not answering his question. Oliver let out a sigh of his own and I could see him moving out of the corner of my eye. I put the menu down, looking at him curiously as he walks to my side of the table.
"Oliver... what are you doing?" I asked, already knowing full well what he was doing but that didn't stop me from asking. Oliver just smiles as he gets down on one knee, pulling out of his pocket a small velvet box. Everyone in the restaurant was staring at us, but Oliver didn't seem to care.
"Alex, I love you. You are the love of my life and you have been ever since we were little. I know that we've had some rough times lately, but it's nothing we can't get through. I want to spend the rest of my life with you and I praying that you feel the same way... So I guess what I'm asking you here is, will you marry me?" Oliver finishes, still smiling but it was more of a nervous one as he waited for my answer. I didn't have to think very long about it though, knowing full well that this was the next step.
And I was ready for that step.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Well den.
They're engaged now.
How cute.
I cry.
ANYWAYS, the picture in the multimedia is a cover for a new Narry that I posted earlier today. Being since you guys liked Shiver (or at least I hope you did, if not then... I guess we have a problem lol) I feel like you might like this one... It's going to be a humorous story, much like Shiver was so yeah...
That's all I've got to say, besides the fact the description is below.
Yup.

"Hey, do we have Chemistry together?"
"Um no, you're in my Biology class."
"Are you sure? I could've sworn we had Chemistry."
"I don't even have a Chemistry class this year."

Or the one where Harry swears that Niall and him have Chemistry, but Niall doesn't seem to get it.
