Chapter Twenty-One
So sweet I can hardly speak, due to such trauma in my teeth
But your body language is telling me that you're worth the pain
"E.J., come to Daddy." I cooed, crouching down as I looked at Eli. He was standing up on his feet, holding onto the side of the couch as he tried to eat couch cushion. I shook my head a little as I looked at him fondly, finding the baby more than adorable. It was just Eli and I today, Alex had gone to lunch with Brenna. I didn't mind being with Eli alone though, I loved spending time with him.
"Elijah, come here," I tried again, this time getting a reaction from E.J. He stopped trying to eat the cushion, turning to look at me with a grin on his face. I was half expecting him to just walk over to me, but he wasn't quite ready for that. E.J. dropped down to his hands and knees before crawling towards me, his grin growing larger when I picked him up off the ground.
"Da." He screeched, grabbing at my face when I tried to kiss his cheek. I let out a soft sigh when my phone started to ring from the other room, I had been ignoring all of my calls today... Mainly due to the fact that I knew Tracy was out for my head. Dean and Zack had been calling me just as much as Tracy had, the only one who hadn't called was Chad and I didn't think he was going to. I let out another sigh when it went off again, figuring that I should at least check who it was. I walked with E.J. to the kitchen where my phone was sitting on the counter. I picked it up when I saw it was Alex, a small smile on my face as I did so.
"Hey, done with lunch already?"
"Can you come pick me up? I was going to walk home, but... I think someone's following me, and it's really freaking me out." A.J. says quietly, worry clear in his voice as he speaks. I didn't need to be told twice, already grabbing my keys off the counter and walking out the front door with Eli.
"Where are you? Why didn't you ask Brenna for a ride?" I asked, walking down to the parking lot. When I reached the car, I quickly strapped Eli into his car seat.
"I'm right by the high school and she left before I got the chance to. I figured it wasn't too far of a walk back home, but this guy has seriously been tailing me since I left the restaurant."
"Okay, I'm on my way right now. It'll only be a minute or two. Stay on the line, okay?" I said quickly, climbing into the drivers seat before finally starting the car. E.J. was babbling happily in the backseat as I pulled out of the parking lot, driving straight to the high school. A.J. was walking right past it, phone still pressed to his ear as I pulled up along side him. It didn't take him long to climb in, hanging up the phone as he did so.
"Where's he at?" I asked him, pulling away from the high school. A.J. turned around in his seat as he took a look.
"Over by the front entrance. He hid there when he saw you pull up..." A.J. said, looking at me nervously as I caught a look of the guy he was talking about. I cursed silently when I saw the rather large camera strapped around his neck.
"What? What is it?" Alex asked, but I didn't say a word as I sped back home. As soon as we got back, I turned off the car and got out. I was quick in grabbing Eli out of his car seat, grabbing Alex's hand after he got out. I practically dragged him back inside with no explanation whatsoever. I locked the door behind us once we reached the apartment, earning a small look from Alex as soon as I faced him.
"Are you going to tell me what's going on?" Alex asks, crossing his arms over his chest as he looks at me.
"Remember how Tracy told me that you and E.J. are to remain secret, that you guys weren't to be seen with me in the public?" I asked quietly, putting Eli down on the ground when he started to squirm around. Alex nodded, but his confused expression still remained.
"Yeah? What about it?"
"Well, they know. They know about you at least, and maybe Eli now... The other night, someone was at the restaurant. They took pictures. I should've been more careful, but after everything that had been going on I forgot about them... I figured we'd be okay, that they wouldn't follow me back here... But they did, and I screwed up. I put you in a position that I know you've never wanted to be in, and I'm sorry Alex. I'm so sorry."
"Olly..." Alex started, but I interrupted him before he got the chance to finish.
"I just, I want us to be happy Alex. I don't want any of this anymore, I never f ucking wanted any of it." I whispered, refusing to look at Alex now. I bit down on my bottom lip, running a hand through my hair as I took in a shaky breath. Alex was quiet and for a moment I thought he was going to yell at me, but he took my face into his hands. He made me look at him, his blue eyes connecting with my brown.
"It's going to be okay Oliver, they were going to find out eventually... and it will be okay. As long as we've got each other. It'll be okay."
"Just promise me you'll stay."
"Only if you promise the same."

yeah
idk.
I haven't really been in the mood to write and I personally feel like this story has just gone down hill. It's probably going to end up ending in about ten or so chapter. I don't know.
So yeah
