"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear princesses, happy birthday to you," everyone in the party sang as the adults raised their glasses of champagne and the children were gathered around the table, wanting to grab the first few plates of cakes.

Astrid's cake was a two-tiered, pink cake with chocolate and vanilla, while mine was a simple tiramisu cake with only one tier. I didn't mind, since I didn't want more attention ever since the press conference.

Astrid blew the candles on her cake first, while I followed. The official photographer for the event snapped photos of us, and everyone clapped. The children around us had their eyes glazed as they were starting to get impatient about the cake.

I took the cake knife from a server beside me and cut Astrid's cake with her small hands grasping my hand that held it. She had the widest grin on her face, and then I went on to get the first cut of my own cake. I left the rest of the slicing of cake to the servers and went on to greet the guests, with most of them being royals.

"Happy birthday, Crown Princess," the Crown Prince of Norway greeted when I went over to him. He was a man in his early thirties, and was quite dashing with his dark hair and smiling brown eyes. His wife was beside him, a gorgeous blonde lady in a maroon cheongsam. I recognised a lot of the guests due to the lessons and the name-book provided to me of every existing monarchy in the world, including its royals and personal information. It was important for me to memorise as I was one of them now.

"Thank you very much, Prince Andolf," I beamed, nodding. "How are your children?"

"They're doing just fine. In fact, they're with Princess Astrid over there." He pointed to the two twin girls among the group of children enjoying their cake.

"I'm glad they're enjoying the party." I commented.

His wife, Princess Lauren, presented me with a gift wrapped in gold paper with a big silver bow sitting prettily on the paper. "Here's your gift. Henry & Louise hinted to all of us here that the next ruler of Denmark would be a woman and that your birthday is today, so we kind of guessed about what you'd like. Hope we got it right." She smiled.

"Thank you," I accepted the gift and almost immediately, there was a palace staff at my side to hold the presents I'd received.

"We all watched the press conference inside the pavilion just now," Prince Andolf started, "and it was about time that Prince Noah gets some recognition."

I agreed. "I do think so too."

Princess Lauren spoke up. "I didn't know you both were together, but I wish you all the best. I'll bet you both look stunning together."

I flushed. "Well, thank you. You're too kind. I have to go and meet the others, but it was nice meeting you."

We exchanged parting smiles and as I was about to walk to the next person I was about to greet, someone placed their hands over my eyes. The scent of the person was familiar.

"What the—" I stopped as that person turned me around. She removed her hands from my eyes and I was shell-shocked at her attendance at first, then proceeded to squeal as I hugged her tightly. "Aunt Julia!" I exclaimed.

"Hey Maeve," she said, then pulled away. "Has it been an exhausting past few days?"

I sighed. "'Exhausting' doesn't even begin to cover it, but I'm fine. How are you even here?"
