2 Months after the death of Marius' father Eponine finally got the courage to speak to Marius afraid he was mad for her leaving him there alone during that horrible day.
She saw Marius walking into the ABC cafe when she yelled his name. Looking confused her turned and saw her. He looked upset still after his loss and Eponine ran up and threw her arms around him. Skipping the subject about his father, Marius said

"Eponine i have very big news. Since i was the son of a very powerful man, the head person asked me to join him in my fathers place of the Revolution".

"Who invited you?" replied Eponine

"A man at the age of 21. He goes by the name Enjolras".

Eponine looked at him in a very worried manner.

"Marius i dont want you in this revolution, i dont want you to get hurt or worse die. I know that no one has taken action in the revolution just yet but what if they do? what if you get shot! I wouldnt be able to live without you..."

When she realized what she just said her face turned red of regret. She didnt want him to know she was inlove with him from the day they met. She turned and started walking fast down the street. Marius caught up and grabbed her arm, twisted her around and rested his hands upon her waist. He looked at her with those determined eyes she always fell for. He pulled her close and kissed her forehead.

"Eponine, i didnt know you felt that way. But i cant feel the same for you, i would if i could but Enjolras always said that our little love lives dont count anymore. And yes i may die and that is why i cannot get attatched to you anymore then i already am. Enjolras planned our first battle. The other side doesnt know yet. But if you havent heard the King who had the same intentions as us had passed of illness last night. At his funeral we will protest and build our barricades. Im sorry Eponine but i must fight to save this country. You know i must. My father would do the same."

Eponine looked at him very overwhelmed by what she had just heard. When she realized the Kings funeral was the day after tomorrow a tear escaped her eye and ran down her cheek. Marius whiped her tear and entered the ABC Cafe.
