Eponine woke up the day of the Kings funeral. Since she lives in the attic of the ABC cafe she can he the chattering from below her. Knowing the fighting would start today. She quietly sat on the top of the stairs listening to Enjolras below. He said the address of where their barricade would arise. She thought of a plan to make sure Marius would be safe through the battle. Since begging didnt work on him, she went into the closet of where one of the students stored his old ragged clothes. She threw on a black, long overcoat. It went just a bit down her knees. She put dark brown long pants and tucked the bottom of her dark green dress in the pants. Now to hide her hair, she thought. The other men would never let her stay by the barricade for she was just a girl. Even though she knew how strong she was. They would still never let her stay. She found a dark brown newsboys hat on a hook. she rolled up her hair above her head and placed the hat firmly. When she was about to walk down the stairs to join the other revolutionaries she passed a shiny metal plate in which showed her reflection. She did look like a boy she hoped no one would reconize her. She started to gallop down the stairs and stopped herself then walked down the stairs seeing if she could slide into the room with no one reconizing her.
