A FEW DAYS LATER

*June's P.O.V.*
I entered my house after a long day of recording in the studio. I went into the kitchen to find my parents waiting for me.

"June, we need to talk." My mom said.

"Okay." I said sitting down.

"We just want to know where and what you have been up to these past few days. I mean your always out of the house." My dad said.

"Well honestly, I have been at a recording studio."

"Recording studio as in singing?" My dad asked.

"Yep," I said smiling, "I already released my first single. It came out on the radio, and it's a hit!" I said excitedly. My dad smiled at me.

"That's great, June!" My dad said.

"Great?" My mom said looking at my dad. "I didn't approve this."

"What's so wrong about June singing? You know it has always been her dream." My dad said. My mom gave him the evil eye. She then looked at me.

"Fame is no good, June. It's like a disease. You become unhappy when you rise to fame. I don't want that for you." She said.

"But mom, I'm not going to be like other celebrities who loose their selfs."

"Yes you will," she snapped, "all people that become celebrities act out and loose their self. In fact, you have already changed."

"Don't you understand I'm not the same. And I won't be. And I just changed my look not my personality." I said. She got up from the table.

"You are so naive June. I can't believe you are throwing away everything we sacrificed for you." She said before walking away.

"What does that have to do with anything?" I said to my dad.

"Look June, she's just upset because well, you know. She's all against singing." My dad said.

"But why?" I asked.

"She has to tell you that yourself. But anyways, tell me all about it."

"Well, I've been working with Dylan. He is like my BFF, beside Alexa of course. And well one day we made a song, called Nobody Love. We sent it to producers and I got signed to a record label. But they needed a stage name."

"A stage name?" I nodded. "What did you choose?"

"I chose, Tori."

"Tori? That's your grandmothers name. And also your middle name."

"Yep, that way, my grandma will always be with me." My dad smiled at me.

"That's good June. I'm really proud of you."

"Thanks dad." After that I went to my room. I'm a bit frustrated because I feel like I'm being lied to or something is being keep from me. I'm hurt also because I feel like I hurt my mom. I hate that feeling. I just want to cry, I have no idea why. I feel out of place. Like I'm overwhelmed. It's weird. My mom came into my room.

"I know your dad is being all nice and all but for me, you are grounded for keeping it from us. I expect you to stay in the house all night doing work, understood." She snapped.

"But it's Friday."

"So, do work. Study, or practice something, but the point is don't leave the house. Your dad and I have to take care of some business. We will be back around 9. I expect you to be sleeping when I arrive."
