"I'll break down your walls one by one and sneak into the gates of your icy heart before crushing it into tiny pieces." He murmurs mercilessly as his lips lightly brush my ear, the contact eliciting an indescribable sensation through every inch of m...

Agents inundated the opaque room, awaiting his command.
Their black uniforms exhuded conformity as ceiling lights highlighted their features.
Overhead, he perused the sea of agents.
"When you joined this organization, you made a pledge of allegiance to the cause!" Moreno declared in authority, "As SARC agents, what code of conduct is expected of you?"
In tandem, each agent pressed his palm on his chest before reciting :
"As an agent of SARC, it is my duty to conduct stealth operations and perform efficiently to meet organizational standards. Activities carried out within SARC's apparatus are strictly confidential. Staff is forbidden from disclosing internal operations to third parties.
Regardless of my personal relations, my main allegiance is to the Master.
Failure to carry out missions efficiently will prove to be costly. As an agent, I must abide by SARC's hierarchical system and address every member based on their status. Failure to comply can result in an immediate suspension or ranking demotion."
With a proud smirk, Moreno slowly paced back and forth behind the balcony, never leaving his subordinates out of his sight.
"Top agents, step forward!" he commanded once he halted.
Through the throng, the ten chosen parted from their group row to form a line formation ahead of the mass. Among them, Lolita's gaze clashed with his predatory eyes.
In contrast, Egan looked downwards, wishing that time could fly by faster.
"As selected representatives of the Stealth Agency of Recruitment and Clean-money," he continued sternly; his voice echoing through the hallowed walls, "Top agents face a more cruel fate for failing to comply with the rules compared to base agents."
Pausing, he assessed each agent like a hawk.
"Candidate 63," upon the call of his number, Egan froze.
Moreno detected the slight change in his posture. "What is the penalty for betrayal?"
Statue-still, Egan wished he could interrogate another agent rather than him.
"The penalty for betrayal," he trailed off in a wavering tone, "is death."
The room turned cold as some agents did their best to hide their quivering fingers.
Moreno delayed his response, allowing silence to regain its dominance.
If purgatory was a real place, Lolita believed she was at its gates.
