time passed, kina has now reached 17
"no, no NO" i sliced my hatchet across the demons neck with ease. the sensation of killing became more normal over these past few months. i had been clearing out demons in every area that demon slayers couldnt reach quick enough. The people of the attackings slowly realized something was up when requests were finished quicker but more brutal every time. it thankfully didnt bother the towns people because they could finally walk the streets safely at night. it was so hard being on my own, freezing cold nights with no one to laughand no way to make money so having a decent meal was rare. No one really mentions how hard it is to land a job as the only black person in olden day japan, but to be fair i am a rare situation. somewhere along the way i got so jealous of demons for always having a ready to go meal, as twisted as it was but suffering really can change your whole perspective of life. how could they even begin to let the whisper of the word please come out of their mouth. if they can treat us as live stock, nothing is stopping me from doing the same, so once a week its demon kabab. i travelled so often that i earned the nickname ghost among other new demon slayers i saved during my jobs. youd be surprised how many of them would have died without me that it almost makes me wonder how they survived past the origional exams.
you may be wondering why i never went back but...i felt being branded a traitor would be worse then this. i mean we almost got killed for traveling with demons and i just miraculously survived a high ranking demon with heavy injuries that a hashira couldn't defeat? yeah they might as well just put me on an altar and burn me for being a demon myself. i shuddered slightly as the old wound from muzan ached tauntingly. i shook off my arm as i crouched on top of a tall building, watching a new slayer getting chased by a mutated demon as a sigh went out. i pulled my old mask over my face before following the two nd jumping down quietly, about to get the drop on him until the other guy shouted out towards me while pointing. "hell yeah its ghost!" the demon reacted faster than i expected and jumped backwards before running up and getting a good kick across my face as i still stood tall before tilting my mask to spit out some blood with a crazed grin. "you done?"
i rushed forward when the demon got scared, avoiding a couple of spikes he ripped out from his spine to throw at me before my wisteria bomb blew up in his face as he spluttered as i paused. i tilted my head silently at the newbie who was still slightly trembeling after throwing it while walking up to him as he stuttered. "i-um i'm sorry- to help- i was trying to help you and i accidentally took the kill-" he froze as i pulled apart his robe to grab my wisteria bomb and inspected it closely with a chagrin. "i didn't think the patent on these was finished yet..." his face was beet red while still confused "your a woman?! oh man i'm so winning that bet!" i rolled my eyes before sharply glaring at him "you don't tell anyone anything about me...and i'm keeping this as payment for saving your life-" i paused as a whiff of something sweet filled the air before i grabbed a fresh bamboo waffle out of his pocket "and this"i turned around and ran away into the night but not before hearing him cry out, putting a smile on my face. "WHYS THE GHOST AN EXTORTIONIST!?"
