Spencer-
Spencer had been having the worst year socially at Clemson University. He'd left for a year right after he'd obtained his bachelor's in Pre-Medicine, and when he'd returned the University's system labeled him as a freshman.
How did that happen? He had no idea, but the universe decided to pick him for this particular problem.
He was tired of having to explain why he was in grad courses and why his ID said Class of 2018. In short, it was the worst. Since everyone thought he was eighteen, he couldn't get into any of the clubs downtown. Due to this fact, he actually became a regular anywhere, but the clubs. He would have gone to house parties, but he never really felt up for it.
He wondered how, in one short year, half of the staff that he knew and people he worked with had gone to work elsewhere.
Now that finals were just around the corner, he could at least look forward to a whole summer to himself. He hung off the edge of his bed and sighed propping his legs up on the wall.
It was 3:00 pm.
No more classes for the day."I should study..."He mumbled out loud.
"Nah."
Finals were weeks away, and he already knew enough to pass, and that was fine by him.
He picked up a game console controller and turned on the TV he and his roommate shared. Spencer played aimlessly until the door opened, and his roommate walked in.
"You've been in here all day?" Corey made himself busy. Spencer never got why Corey had to make conversation. He'd thought Corey was gay for the longest, until he got a girlfriend a couple months ago. It didn't help that he looked exactly like Joey Graceffa with a high pitched voice.
"No."
"Oh. So, umm what did you learn in class?"
This was the part Spencer was always confused about. He wanted to say, Why are you asking about what I learned? If you want to know, then change majors.
Instead he said, "Oh. Stuff. I've got my finals paper to write."
"When are you going to do that?" Corey was changing in the closet, and when he came out Spencer couldn't help but chuckle to himself.
"I'm brainstorming right now."
"But you're playing Lego St-"
"I'm brainstorming right now." Spencer said. He kind of wished his voice would raise so Corey could get the hint that he wanted to be left alone.
"But-" Corey stood in front of the tv. Spencer put down the controller.
"I'm brainstorming right now. "
"Okay." Corey left.
Corey did have a point. Maybe Spencer should start that paper.
