Chapter 10- Spencer

Spencer-

"Hey Spencer," Colin called to him one day at lunch. "I've got an interview tomorrow, so you'll have to find someone that will fill in for my place in the field trip."

The architecture class was going to Greenville to gain more experience on something about modern and landscape architecture.

Architecture wasn't Spencer's major, but he found the idea of it interesting. "Yeah sure."

So, he mingled around asking some of the other counselors if they wanted to come. Iesha said that she had her hands full with the Civil Engineering class. "You can ask Sarah though. I don't think she's busy tomorrow."

He asked Alyssa and Katie.

They'd both said the same thing. "Go ask Sarah." Once again, he didn't hate Sarah, he just felt awkward when he was around her. He noticed that he never knew what to say or do. It was frustrating enough that he felt like he knew her from somewhere, but didn't know how else to approach the subject other than, "Hey, I think I know you from somewhere, but I actually don't know where. Have we met before? Like, way before we had that exchange in the elevator that one time?"

Awkward.

And what if he were the only one that felt that way. He felt as if it would make things even more awkward. How could it? Spencer didn't even want to take a guess.

He shook his head as he approached her. "Hey Sarah."

"Oh hey Spense. What's up?" Sarah looked up from having what looked like a deep conversation with some of the campers.

"Colin wanted me to ask if you'd fill in for him tomorrow on the Greenville trip with the architecture class. Wanna come?"

"Yeah, sure." Sarah smiled.
