Spencer-

"Wow, that sounds awesome." Spencer said enthusiastically. It may not have sounded like it, but Spencer was really impressed by what the audio engineering class could do.

"Heck yeah man." Dan, one of the other counselors, slapped Spencer on the back. "We're dang good. Anyway, how was the trip?"

"Oh. It was a trip alright." Spencer plopped onto the couch.

"Oh yeah? What happened?" Dan raised an eyebrow.

"We got lost, and I'm pretty sure the guy that helped us get our bikes thought Sarah and I were dating."

"You do know, we've all thought that right?" If Spencer were drinking water, he'd spit it out. "How?" His tone came out normal. These were the times he wished he was good at putting emotion into his voice.

"Dude, really? I figured it was obvious. I mean you guys knew each other from the start and all. Y'all are like an awkward couple that's just starting out dating."

"Name one thing."

"Uhh, the very first week. At the beach, you guys jumped in the lake together. Then, you gave her your towel to dry off afterwards." Dan shrugged.

Spencer laughed. "One. You sound like a fangirl. Two. She asked, and she was cold. I'm just looking out for the other counselors."

"Hey, I know a thing or two." Dan stood. "Ask Colin when he comes back."

So Spencer spent the last hour and a half waiting for Colin to return. He needed a break. It was like a bomb of feelings smacked him into the chest, and everyone was just waiting for it to explode.

Sarah was cool. And she was beautiful. Not saying that the other counselors weren't anyway. Plus, he was steadily trying to figure out where else he knew her from. But like her? He didn't think so.

He'd considered them a good team because they were one dang good of one, but that was pretty much it.

Colin didn't come back until dinner. Spencer deliberately sat in front of him. He was going to find out every single detail about this relationship thing. Amidst his thoughts, one of the campers called him. He looked up to a group of thirteen year-olds sitting near the end of the table.

"I-I ship you and Spencer! I mean Sarah! You and Sarah!"

Damn.

This was really starting to piss him off. "Oh, I've heard that before." He nodded politely. "But we're not dating."

"What?" The smallest one's eyes immediately began to tear up.

Oh. Dear. "We're just a good team."

"I'm so wounded. My heart!" She cried on one of the other girl's shoulder.

"I'm sorry..." Not really, but the girl was crying. What the hell is wrong with these kids?

He needed a break. Maybe he'd take a day off. There was bound to be a job interview around here somewhere too.

"Hey Spencer, what's good?" Colin plopped down in a seat across from him.

"Sarah?"

"If by Sarah, you mean SPENSAH, then yes, that's a thing. S-P-E-N-S-A-H."

"You're kidding." He felt his face go pale. These kids were crazy.

"No. Sorry." Colin shrugged. "You shouldn't let it get to you. Just talk to her."
