Spencer-

The summer had started, and Spencer was surprisingly enjoying himself. The kids were nice. His mom had only called once to ask him if he'd gotten a job.

Which, in a way, he did have a job. Sure, he wasn't getting paid, but Spencer began to learn more about himself and the other counselors. Spencer knew who worked well with who, and almost everyone worked fine together.

By the second week, he'd gotten used to what the routine was supposed to be.

Day 1: Introduction, Dinner, and Games.

That was probably the only thing that went according to schedule. They'd be split into groups based on the color of the tag on their dorm door. When that happened, they'd toss the question ball around in their groups and answer questions until the kids in the group got bored.

"What's your spirit animal?" Spencer read as his right thumb landed on the question written on the beach ball. "Hmm, though I don't like them, I feel like my spirit animal might be a cat because I get lazy. I like my sleep. After you answer the question, you throw the ball to someone else. Sarah." He tossed the ball her way.

"Do you have any pets? Oh yeah. I have a dog. He's a Pomeranian." Sarah smiled to herself.

Some of the campers cooed at her response and Spencer watched Sarah's eyes light up as she talked about her dog's small size.

"Spencer, do you have any dogs?" Everyone's attention shifted towards him.

"Yeah, I have a Jack Russel Terrier." He nodded.

"Do you dress him up?" Sarah raised her eyebrows.

"Only around Christmas I guess." Spencer smirked and they laughed.

Spencer didn't like talking to Sarah. It wasn't her, it was just the awkward silence that always followed suit when he talked to her.

It was getting annoying. He just wanted to have a good conversation with her without the looming effects of an awkward silence.

The scholars shifted slightly on the ground, a sign that they were getting tired of sitting on the ground.

As if on cue, Chelsea sent them a group text.

Chelsea: Start the Scavenger Hunt, I'm going to be running late.

Camille took command of the situation from there by gathering the groups together and directing them about the Scavenger Hunt instructions.

"You're going to find things around campus that spell the word Clemson. The more creative the better chance you have at winning. Okay, now go with your group, and ready, set, go!" Camille jumped into the air.

"We're gonna to win this time. I can feel the potential in my group." Sarah boasted.

"Yeah, right. I'm gonna kick your butt." Spencer smirked. "May the best counselor win." He balled his fist in attempt to get a fist bump of luck from Sarah, but she wasn't paying attention.

Awkward.

He shook his head and turned to his group. "Okay guys, this week is going to be the week that I win. We've gotta kick their butts."

"You haven't won the other weeks?" One of the scholars asked.

"No, not yet. Colin's won the last two weeks in a row. We can't let him win his third week." Spencer's small speech seemed to motivate the kids enough.

"Let's put on our thinking caps!" That boy was probably about 12 and was obviously pissing off everyone by thinking he was the leader of the group.

"Hey guys, let's just go crazy. I believe in you guys."
