Spencer-
Spencer wanted to hit himself in the face.
With a brick.
Halfway because he now understood why Corey talked to him all the time, and the other half because he was actually listening to him.
She had come into the elevator and looked way too deep in her own thoughts to even mention his presence. She just stood there, with that oddly familiar face and blonde highlights staring at the floor, holding her books.
He had to say something. Otherwise, she'd realize that the elevator wasn't moving and think he was some kind of pedophile lurking in the shadows for his next victim.
When he did say something, she looked so surprised, but quickly recovered. "Umm, basement." She smiled. Her voice was familiar as well. Like he'd talked to her before.
Then he did something that Spencer doesn't do.
He attempted to make conversation. Spencer didn't want to introduce himself, but he found himself doing it anyway.
Dear Lord, what was he thinking? She'd introduced herself as Sarah and politely ran out of the elevator when it opened. If he were Sarah, he'd have done the same thing by the level of the awkward silence that came afterwards. Plus, how long was he standing there?
He slapped his hand on his forehead, and drug it down his face until it fell at his side. The good thing about the library in the basement was the peace and quiet. It was never very crowded, so no one saw him hit himself.
Spencer also wondered why he was freaking out. It's not like he didn't talk to girls.
I'm not anti-social. he thought to himself. I just prefer to not have conversation. Specifically, small talk in elevators.
He smirked, shook his head, and tried to focus on his essay. That'd probably keep him from sounding like a girl who just saw a cute boy, and freaks out because they made eye contact. Spencer searched the library for books on pre-medicine and biological science.
It'd been his dream to become a doctor ever since the start of his freshman year in high school. He'd been taking care of the little kids in his community, when one of them became sick. He didn't like to remember it. He loved science and children more than anything.
Spencer shook his head, and headed towards the science section.
