I rushed down to the firm as fast as I could after dropping AJ off at my parent's house.

Wearing sweats and a tank top I run in to find Alicia sitting on the floor next to a bloodied man. He was struggling against his restraints but Alicia slapped him on the back of the head.

"Stop all that struggling you fucking goon." She growled at him. "Do you want to go back to sleep?"

He glared at her but stopped struggling. I sighed walking over to her. "Alicia are you okay?"

She looked up at me confused. "How did you know I was still here?"

"Robert called me." I shrugged.

She groaned. "I don't need you here while I wait for Cole's men. I'll be fine."

I shook violently with anger. "Are you out of your mind?! You were waiting alone for Cole's men? You could've gotten yourself killed! God you're insane Alicia!"

She narrowed her eyes at me and stood to her full 5' stature. "I would be just fine you giant lug. I can take out guys twice my size." she gestured to the idiot on the floor, who gave an indignant huff.

I rolled my eyes. "Alicia, I don't care. You could seriously get hurt. I'm waiting here with you."

Alicia's eyes filled with fury. "If you're here, who the hell is with my son?"

"My parents are watching AJ. They both have hand guns registered and go to the range every month. He's in good hands."

She sighed, still glaring at me. "Fine. But I hope you fight better than I remember. "

I held back a smirk. "I've taken a few classes here and there over the years."

"Let's hope your bullshit lessons will save you." she muttered.

An hour later, five me walked into the building. All dressed in head to toe black.

I stood slightly in front of Alicia getting ready to defend myself.

"We're here for our 'goon'." Snarled the leader of the group.

I forced the guy to his feet and shoved him over to the group of guys. "Now get off my property." I say as firmly as possible.

He chuckled. "You think we were sent to just pick this bozo up?"

I saw the fist coming and quickly dodged it grabbing the guys wrist and bicep, effectivly throwing him across the lobby. I saw Alicia staring at me in amazement. I shrugged.

"Told you I took some classes." I smirked getting into a fighters stance.

The rest of the men lunged at Alicia and I. I easily took down one with a punch to the nose, effectively breaking it, and then a swift kick to the ribs which sent him the ground. Another one actually got a shot to my face, but I recovered to delivery a jab to his throat then another to his stomach. While he was hunched over I elbowed him between his shoulder blades, sending him down right next to his little friends. I turned to find Alicia delivering a punch to a guys stomach and then kneeing him the face once he doubled over. Another one came up behind her and before I even warned her, she turned and landed a kick to his groin that left him on his knees giving Alicia the opportunity to land three punches across his face; the last one not only broke his nose but put him to sleep. Turning her attention back on the other guy, she turned slightly and elbowed him in the face which landed him on his back.

She turned to me and her eyes widened. "Alec! Behind you."

I found myself being tackled onto the floor by the guy who's nose I broke. He was dripping blood all over me, disgusting me thoroughly. He was a lot heavier than I was so breaking free was looking to be too much of a struggle. He began throwing punches and as many as I dodged, I was taking a few good hits.

"Shit." I cursed, spitting out blood, dodging another blow.

"Alec!" Alicia called sliding over her knife while kicking the hell out of one of the goons who was trying to trip her.

I quickly grabbed it, swiping it down the guy on me's forearm. He yelled in pain giving me the time to punch him in the throat-again-, and then push him off of me. I delivered a blow to the head, knocking him out. I looked around to see all of the goons either knocked out cold, or bleeding too much to care.

My eyes found Alicia, and I rushed to her engulfing her in my arms. I pulled back and looked into her big blue eyes. "Rule #9 was always my favorite."

She rolled her eyes smiling pulling me back into another hug. It felt good to have her in my arms again. Then I remembered that I was covered in blood and probably sporting a black eye.

"As much as I am loving this hug right now, I think I could use some ice right now." I chuckled.

Alicia pulled away and reached over one of the goons and grabbed her purse and knife. I grabbed her phone from the floor and dialed Cole's number.

When he picked up. "If these little bitches aren't off my lobby floor by 6:30 am I will call the police and charge you with assault, tresspassing, conspiracy, and multiple charges of vandalism." I said coldly walking out with my arm around Alicia's shoulders.

I heard Cole chuckling. "Oh hey there Alec, long time no talk."

"I'm serious you little shit. If they aren't gone by 6:30, I will hunt you down and fuck your bitch ass up."

"Tsk, tsk. Always the fighter, never the lover. Don't worry, they will be cleaned up by 6. Oh and if you ever threaten me again, you won't have an arm to keep putting around Alicia's shoulders." with that last threat he hung up. I looked around wildly, but saw no one but a few late night stragglers.

"What's wrong?" Alicia asked now on alert.

"He was watching us." I snarled.

She sighed. "Nothing new. Another few weeks and this will all be over."

I shook my head. "Alicia we can't keep doing this. You're staying with me."

"What?! No! AJ is there! I won't put him in danger!" She exclaimed moving away from my side, leaving me with a cold feeling.

"He can stay with my parents. They can take him to school, and by the apartment during the week. Alicia, you can't take these guys on by yourself."

She sighed in defeat, knowing I was right. "Okay fine. Cole already knew where I was staying anyway."

I closed my eyes trying to contain my anger. "We'll pick your things up tomorrow morning before work. You're coming with me tonight. You'll drive your car out of here tomorrow."

Surprisingly she nodded with no further argument and followed me to my car.

We drove silently to my apartment. Sometime during the ride she grabbed my hand and began stroking it softly like she used to when she knew I was tense. I smiled and squeezed her hand back. I missed this. More than I would ever admit to myself.
