CHAPTER TWO
It took Lexi a while to pull herself together and pick herself up from the cold linoleum floor beneath her. She hastily grabbed the stick she had just urinated on and wrapped it up in toilet paper, then tossed it away in her metal pink trash can beside the toilet.
"I can do this," she said, although she wasn't sure who she was trying to convince. She was a sixteen year old girl that had just found out she was pregnant after having sex just once. Well, that ruined her thoughts on ever doing it again.
She emerged from her bathroom with tight knots in her stomach and flopped herself on her king sized bed that was mounted high with bright pink and neon green quilts and pillows. Her Macbook was sitting there with its charger hanging down beside the bed. She opened the screen and clicked it on, signing herself into Facebook immediately.
Ryan Lee posted a picture, five minutes ago.
Lexi frowned and her stomach did a somersault. She couldn't help but feel white hot anger towards Ryan. After all, he was the one that did this to her in the first place, despite the fact that she had been crushing on him ever since the first day of Freshman year.
His picture showed his smiling face, with perfect squared white teeth as he stood outside Roslindale River High School with a football in his hands and his proud father, who was a bulky man with a skinhead and a look that showed that he was the one that trained Ryan in football. They also had matching green eyes.
Lexi scrolled down her news feed before she she felt like she'd throw up again. She laughed when she saw her platinum blonde best friend Katya, standing outside her family villa with her very hot Swedish brothers. Katya was half Swedish with a very gorgeous Scandinavian mother that every boy at high school referred to as; The MILF.
In the picture, Katya stood in between her two blue eyed blonde haired brothers, Felix and Sven as they all pulled funny faces wearing their ski jackets and earmuffs. They were preparing to go skiing in Luxembourg and Lexi's heart skipped a beat when she realized that she wasn't going to see her best friend until after Christmas. She immediately opened a chat window and sighed in relief when she saw that she was online.
Katya! She wrote, desperately.
Hello there, friend. She wrote back within a minute.
I really really really really need to talk to you. It's bad. Very bad. Lexi bit her lip feeling tears sting her bright blue eyes. Was she going to cry again? How was she going to confess that she was pregnant to her best friend, let alone her whole family?!
Chill, babe. It can't be that bad. I'm headed to the airport in about twenty minutes. What's up? Katya wrote.
Lexi's throat tightened and she stabbed at her keyboard, desperately. Is there any way I can meet you at the airport? It's bad bad bad, I swear. She waited, her heart thumping hard against her rib cage. She needed to tell someone. She couldn't keep this burden bottled up inside her until after Christmas and her parents were the last people on her mind.
Sure thing! We're at the back of Riverblossom Airport, boarding at Gate twenty-two. Do you wanna meet at the gift shop? Lexi sighed in relief at her friend's acceptance.
I'll be there. She wrote back and closed her laptop. Her mouth was dry as hay once again, and she knew that if she threw up again, she'd break down into fits of hysterical sobbing so instead, she stood up and emerged from her room quietly, as though it caused suspicion to her parents if she went downstairs in her average normal mood.
