CHAPTER THIRTY-TWO
It was like a piece of Lexi's heart had been ripped from her chest. A numbing pain infiltrated her body and she sunk to her knees beside Alaska's gravestone, tears blurring her vision as she replayed what she had just done. How she had over reacted. How he had spoken to her. But then again, she was right to have told him her feelings. She had always felt second best to Alaska. And her thoughts about Ashton still loving her were confirmed when she heard him talking to the grave, just now.
"Lexi?"
Lexi hadn't even noticed Violet trudging up to her in her black pumps as she struggled against the mini grass hill. She remained silent as tears pummelled down her face.
"Lexi, what happened? What's wrong?" Violet urged.
She sniffled and roughly wiped her tears away from her cheeks feeling mascara dribble down her skin. It was like her voice was failing her. She just couldn't speak. She was lost for words. She couldn't believe and accept what had just happened.
"Lexi," Violet continued as she bowed down to face her. "What happened? Where did Ashton go? Why are you at Alaska's grave?"
And still, Lexi said nothing. Her throat let out a struggled wail and she violently shook her head, feeling hopeless. Finally, despite the stretching pain in her throat, she managed to formulate speech.
"I h-heard Ash t-talking to Alaska's g-grave and saying how much h-he l-loves her," she stuttered in between sobs. "H-he got angry and I th-think we b-broke up."
"What?" Violet gasped. "No way. He loves you Lex. He really does. I doubt he'd get angry over something like that."
Lexi shook her head and shrugged. "He d-did. We're o-over."
"Don't say that!" Violet snapped. "Don't say you're over because you're probably not. Stop over reacting and over thinking everything. It gets you nowhere. You had a small fight. Every couple does. Just talk about it and everything'll be fine."
But Lexi wasn't willing to accept this. She knew she had lost. She knew from the look on Ashton's face that he was so astonished at her attitude that all respect towards her had evaporated... They were done.

Her eyes were deep brown, identical to a chocolate bar and they lit up in excitement when the blue-eyed boy paced into the white room. This girl had long dark hair that fell down her back in a silky waterfall and every inch of her face was sheer perfection. Not a blemish in sight.
"Ashton!" She called in a melodic voice.
"Hey beautiful," the boy said. His face was shielded by a fringe of black hair but his jawline was strong and tense and it showed that he had handsome features. It was Ashton.
"I missed you," the girl said. "I can't go a day without thinking about you."
"Me either Alaska," Ashton said. "You're the highlight of my day. You changed me for the better. I'm so in love you and no one will ever be quite the girl that you are."
"Don't you have a girlfriend though?" Alaska cocked her beautiful head to the side and her sleek hair fell with it.
"Yeah. You, though. You're my girl. Always!" Ashton replied with his famous half smile.
"But she's having a baby," Alaska pressed on. "She needs you. She loves you!"
But Ashton shook his head, not hearing it, his face oblivious and calm. "But I love you Alaska. You're the one for me and you always will be..."
