CHAPTER EIGHTEEN
Lexi's head was spinning when she arrived home at a quarter past eight that night. Her heart was soaring and she was feeling like she had never felt before. She gulped as she stood in the entrance hall corridor of her sister's house, her fingers tracing the outline of where Ashton's lips had been, just minutes ago as he kissed her goodnight.
"What just happened?" She breathed to herself.
"I don't know, what did?" Came a voice.
Lexi whipped round and found her eyes on Angel who looked as if she too, had just gotten in. Meagen was sleepily lolling her head onto Angel's shoulders and they both reeked of hay.
"Nothing," Lexi said, quickly. "How was your day?"
Angel raised an eyebrow, a curious smile twisting at her mouth. "What's that look on your face?"
Lexi gulped, but it was impossible not to smile. "What look?" She asked, innocently.
"The look that suggests you've just been kissed," Angel said, knowingly. "Hang on-" she stopped, her blue eyes wide. "You didn't kiss Ryan, did you?"
Lexi shook her head frantically, wringing her arms, her grin stretching from ear to ear. Angel exhaled in relief then cocked her head to the side, her face a question mark.
Lexi took a deep breath and collapsed against a wooden beam that belonged to the tapestry of the living room entrance.
"Ashton Segae," she moaned, in ecstasy. "I can't believe today happened!"
Angel snorted, shaking her head in amusement. "Alrightie then, sis. Whatever floats your boat. I'm gonna get Meagen to sleep." She winked and climbed the stairs and disappeared from sight.
Lexi stood, leaning against the beam for another minute, rewinding back to everything that had just happened at Ohio Western Park and she shivered at the thought of Ashton's hands scraping at her back as they shared a long and tender kiss. Did all of this mean that they were together? She sure hoped so, because she knew from now that Ashton was one of those guys. The ones that wouldn't leave her mind, and the ones that caused butterflies in the stomach. He was a unique boy that Lexi would never have thought she'd fall for, but now it looked like anything would happen. After all, she was going through changes...

Fifteen weeks...
Two weeks later, it seemed like Lexi's life had changed drastically. She was found leaving Morgan Term, hand-in-hand with Ashton and Violet had finally found out about the two of them and after giving them curious looks, she laughed at their romance and walked away, completely repulsed by their lovey-dovey-ness.
On a grey Monday afternoon as bullet-sized droplets of rain pelted from the overcast skies, Lexi was found scanning the shelves of a CD shop where Ashton worked. He was behind the counter, discussing things with a customer and Lexi smiled at him, admiring his antics.
His long shaggy hair gleamed under the white lights that hung from the ceiling and Lexi's heart leaped when he glanced at her with his twinkling blue eyes. It seemed like the more time she spent with Ashton, the more her feelings towards him grew.
Something else that was growing profusely, was her stomach. During the weekend, Lexi and Angel had set out to the Mall to purchase maternity wear for Lexi's fattening body. Her stomach protruded to an extent where even her largest tops couldn't fit her and people on the streets were now noticing that she was pregnant.
"I'll be a minute, Lex," Ashton called as she scrutinized the cover of a metal band CD that she knew Ashton was into. The two of them were journeying to Ashton's house for a home-cooked meal whilst Violet took Julie to Ariel's house, leaving the two of them alone.
