THE AUTHOR (っ◔◡◔)っ ♥ AlyssaAgas
So to start off, what's your name?
Alyssa
How about gender and age?
I’m 18 years old
How long have you been on Wattpad?
Since 2011, so about three years.
What's your favorite genre?
Historical Fiction and Romance…so Historical Romance ;)
Who's your favorite author here and why?
Anne Rice because she’s not your ordinary vampire novel writer. She writes about vampires as if she knew them and lived amongst them. Then Emily Bronte because she’s not the conventional Victorian woman. She wrote a novel that made many jaws dropped and one that is really different and incomparable. Jean Plaidy who made me love Mary I and whom writing style I admire so much. Touching but accurate and faithful to history.
In Wattpad, my most favorite author is SissaRomanova. She writes historical fictions based on real happenings in History and is crazy humorous when she wants to be. She’s also amazing with poetry. Almost a genius.
If given a chance, what will you say to him/her?
To my favorite authors? I’d love to talk to them about their writing styles, ask their inspirations and if they have any weird techniques that get them to write such precious gems.
What's the most heartwarming thing a fellow user has done to you?
Simply read my story without expecting that I’ll return the favor, just reading because she likes my story and it moves her.
THE BOOK ♥(ˆ⌣ˆԅ)
TITLE: A Leap of Fate
Genre: Romance and fantasy.
A time travel story so its kind of a Historical fiction too.
Summary:

After dropping out of school, she finds an heirloom necklace that belonged to her late mother. It takes her to a whole new world, 1896, Spanish Colonial Philippines. Daring herself to be braver, she takes a mission for her foster family, the Cruz family, where has to find out the truth about Monica, Senor Cruz's son Leonardo's late fiance.
Along the way, she lives a life where everybody around her loves and respects her while her heart unexpectedly attaches with the cold Leonel and the mysterious Robin Hood of the colony, Robel. In the end, all the surprising truths about her, her family and her soul will let her life begin with a stronger heart of hers.

How did you come up with the title?
It's actually a title of a song by a band named Hale. The lyrics are quite sweet and one day, listening to it, I realized that it’s the most fitting title to my story.
What inspired you in writing this book?
My inspiration for this is Tsarevich Alexei Nikolaevich Romanov of Imperial Russia. I was so into the Romanovs that time (and until now. My love for them never fades away) and my heart was so touched and moved with how he was a lively and lovely boy but lived so short a life. I wished I could time travel to give him company and comfort. And so I came up with this story.
What separates this story from the others?
I can’t exactly say but maybe, it’s the way that its all pure fantasy but the way I made the characters act and think are realistic. I always put myself and my mind in theirs so I can relate and feel what that character should feel, so if they have their flaws and faults I never romanticized it or made it sound like a good thing. And one of its elements are about the things that just a few people talk and know about. About past lives and reincarnation in depth. ;)
Who should we look forward to in this book?
It starts out as a long one. The first chapter has 15 pages so most people just read the first few pages and then abandon it. But once you gave a story a chance, most likely you’ll feel attached to the characters like Leonel, the eldest daughter of a Governor General who has an ice cold heart but warms up along the way. There’s also the boys Bienve, the kind of violent lover, Ciro the sweet and naïve young man and of course the main character Alix, whose real identity and connection to those in the other world(the past) the reader will find out in the end. If you love Philippine history, then you’ll have the pleasure of seeing General Gregorio del Pilar there and Andres Bonifacio.
What do you think is the hardest part in writing this story?
Avoiding clichés and making the connections of the characters plausible and logical. Their connections physically and emotionally are just complicated, really complicated so I had to take great care with it.
When do you usually update your story?
Weekly. But it’s completed now.
Have you experienced 'Writer's Block' and if yes, how do you deal with it?
Yes I did. I inspire myself by listening to songs that inspire strong emotions in me, usually sad songs and I read some romantic short stories. I also go out and gain more experience that can inspire me to get rid of that writer’s block.
If you will rate your story from 1-10 (10 as the highest), what would it be?
It's not perfect and also not almost- perfect. So maybe 8.
What advice can you give to other aspiring writers?
Don’t be blinded by the desire to be the most popular out there. Focus on your craft first and if you give your heart out, the things you want will follow, though be patient because it doesn’t happen overnight. Also never be contented with what you have now. Never cease to improve your writing. Research, study and practice always. ;)
SHOUT OUT: I don’t really know how to give a shout out..I hope I didn’t made it too long. And thank you Hamstring for giving me this opportunity to express myself! And for those who read and finish it, thank you as well and I hope I can somehow inspire you. ^_~ Happy reading and God bless.
