THE AUTHOR (っ◔◡◔)っ ♥ ChickNAlfredo
So to start off, what's your name?
For now, I’d like to stay anonymous. You can just call me whatever nickname comes to your mind ;)
How about gender and age?
Female born in December 1995 – that makes me 17 years old, as far as I remember :)
How long have you been on Wattpad?
Almost a year – since the end of summer ’12.
What's your favorite genre?
Hmm… can I say “well-written stories”? Well, I definitely don’t like teen fiction and sci-fi, but some of my favorite genres would be historical fiction, vampire and – surprisingly – chicklit.
Who's your favorite author here and why?
I’m not really sure. I think that AlysArden is a great writer and also an incredibly kind person.
If given a chance, what will you say to him/her?
Well, I think she’s once posted on my message board about finding my status funny. And I once told her that her story was amazing. So that’s about it.
What's the most heartwarming thing a fellow user has done to you?
I think that when they read my message-for-followers things and actually decide to check out my new chapter or leave that one comment that takes me to my goal is fantastic. I’m ashamed to say that I’m not too keen to do that kind of stuff.
THE BOOK ♥(ˆ⌣ˆԅ)
TITLE: The Summer Of ‘95
Genre: Romance/Other
Summary:
A girl goes on a vacation to Italy, staying with her mom’s old friends. Her plan is to meet new people, learn the language, see the culture – and fall in love. But love is never as it seems
*.:。✿*゚゚・✿.。.:*
How did you come up with the title?
I was thinking about what to call my story when I was walking with my dog and suddenly The Summer Of ’69 starts playing and I think, “Why not?” So I just changed the year to ’95 and that’s about it.
What inspired you in writing this book?
It was summer, I was in love with Italy (partly thanks to The Borgias) and I’d just watched a heart-breaking movie. My imagination often runs wild after watching movies, and suddenly I had a plot – a pretty simple plot at first, but as I wrote on, it became deeper and more complicated.
What separates this story from the others?
I think it separates from other stories with its simple language, but it still has a lot buried right beneath the surface. I remove my narrator from her daily life and troubles, and in return, I get time and space to write more than one story; I have several smaller love stories included in the plot.
Who should we look forward to in this book?
I think that one of the characters that I love the most is Gavino. He is Italian, the younger son of the couple that my main character lives with. He is always happy and jokes around a lot, in spite of that he’s…
Also, Alex is great. He’s an older man who lives in the small community that Melissa visits, and a writer. He’s one of the main characters and I absolutely loved writing about him. He’s got a refreshing view of the world.
What do you think is the hardest part in writing this story?
The middle, where not so much is happening. In the beginning, you’re excited to start the story, and the buildup is great – but it’s easy to get bored right in the middle.
When do you usually update your story?
In the weekends. But this one is completed, so you can just read it right away ;)
Have you experienced 'Writer's Block' and if yes, how do you deal with it?
Sort of, but not really. I knew what should happen but I couldn’t get myself together. A good idea to prevent a writer’s block is to think about what’s going to happen later on in the story. Have a plot planned out, an ending, and figure out how to get it through.
If you will rate your story from 1-10 (10 as the highest), what would it be?
Haha, I’m afraid I can’t! I’ve never read it, have I? ;)
What advice can you give to other aspiring writers?
Just read and write and let yourself be inspired.
SHOUT OUT: OMG I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO SAY!! - I caps locked it so I think it should count as a shout out ;)
