Kid seems to be extremely concerned, and really aggravated at our lack of explanation.
"Why won't you tell me!" He whines, stopping his foot like a toddler during a temper tantrum.
"Because!" I yell, "It's none of your business!"
He creases his eyebrows into a overly-angry face.

"He's a little too... Uptight..." Patti says, trying to excuse his behavior. I just grunt.

To be honest I kinda like Liz, although if I ever try to talk with her, Kid runs up to me and begs me to explain why i made him knock me out the other night.
Liz says I would love Tsubaki and Blackstar, but I haven't had the opportunity to introduce myself.

Upon our returning, Maka decided to throw a party in our honor. Once I agreed, she squealed like a pig.

Soul leans over and whispers, "She really likes parties, in case you couldn't tell,"

Sun smiles, something he hasn't done in a while. When I was little I thought it was unfair. The sun seeing happy, joyous moments, while the moon watches death and despair.
But now, after I watched judgmental looks follow us through out our town, after I've seen him suffer, and after I have seen him smile a real, genuine smile, I know that he hasn't had it easy.

"Stereotypes. I never liked them. Who has the right to label people, y'know?" He said one day, after I had asked him why that lady looked at him odd.
"I'm not always happy. I have other emotions, I do indeed feel pain. The children I grew up with didn't understand that. They pushed my limits," he smiles, thinking about a certain day.
He looked at me, small evidence of tears growing inside of his eyes. "When I was nine, I remember my father asked me how my day was. I burst into tears, the look on his face was priceless. As soon as I got home, I hid in my room. I almost committed suicide that day,"
"Why?!" I had exclaimed, my jaw dropped.
"You know what? I don't even remember. It's funny really. Just shows that time heals,"

These memories are the most emotion I've gotten from him. I've caught him crying in the corner of his room a few times, but he never told me why. Sometimes he'll just stare off into space for awhile, and whenever he brings up his father the same grin settles on his face.
I have few memories of Sun's father, some happy, but mostly his wife, Mana's funeral, the empty look in his fathers eyes. When he died, I helped Sun bury him. I didn't have the opportunity to bury my mother, and my father might as well be dead to me.

"Adi?" Maka's voice asks, concerned. Suns hand lands on my shoulder.

"You alright?" my partner asks. I nod.

"Sorry, guess a zoned out... What did I miss?" I say, smiling awkwardly.

"We were discussing how we met our partners, what about you guys? What brought the sun and moon together?" Tsubaki says, smiling, her black hair shines in the awkwardly bright light of the living room.

Me and Sun share a look, and he nods slightly. "Well," I began. "Our parents had known each other for most of their lives, we grew up together. The first time I met him though... I was six, right? Yeah. He was five. He was walking on a beach by our house in tears. I sensed him, his power. Almost the same thing you feel when the sun hits your face when you wake up. He looked at me as I called him, a sun tattoo was on his cheek and I smiled. I liked him,"

"Wow," Maka said, "you didn't know your parents were friends?" I shake my head.

"When his parents died, he was sent to a foster home by our house. I visited him everyday,"

They all stare at me for a moment.

"What?" I ask. Their eyes shift to Sun.

"Your parents are dead?" Soul asks, confused.

"Umm, yeah. Guess it never came up..." Sun says, clearly thinking that it doesn't matter. He always says I had it worse. I doubt it. I know how much he misses his father.

"Well, uh let's change the subject-" I start, being interrupted by Blackstar.

"Are your parents alive?" He asks loudly. I hesitate.

"My father is," I say simply.

"What about your mom?" Maka asks.
I gulp.

"Umm... I- she- umm..." I stutter. "She uh, I need you use the bathroom..." I say, jumping up and bolting up the stairs. I lock myself in the blue and white checkered bathroom.
What would they say if they found out my mother had gone insane? If they found out she had tortured me? That Lord Death had killed her? I don't want their pity. I don't need it.

"Adira?" Tsubaki knocks on the door.
I open the door slowly, her kind face looks worried. I realize she has the same personality of my mom, the kind, quiet, loving look in her eyes, the small smile she gets all the time. Then and there I burst into tears, falling onto the tiled floor. She quietly hugs me, stroking my hair.
"I'm sorry, we shouldn't have asked," she mutters.

I shake my head, "No, I'm fine, I'll be alright," I reassure her. I start to stand.

"Do you- if you ever need to talk about it, or anything, I'll listen, okay?" She says, her voice etched with a need to help. I nod. I'll smile, even if it is fake. I'll smile.
