I gasp as I open the door, revealing something I can't comprehend.

"Lord Death?" I ask to myself. Death's mask lays on the floor of the closet, along with a note.

"Give me the girl and we'll give you your lord," I read out loud to myself. The note is written in awkwardly sized writing, and is squished on the end of the page.

What girl? Me? Maka? Tsubaki? Liz? Or Patti? I shove the note in my pocket and run into my room. I silently recall what I heard after I was kidnapped.

The blond one! Idiot! The man's voice echos in my head.

"Sun, Sun wake up," I say, shaking his shoulder. He grunts in reply.

I shove the note in his face. He grabs it.

"What is this?" he asks looking up at me.

"I found it in the other room with Lord Death's mask," I say.

His eyes widen. "Does it mean you?" he asks, I shake my head.

"I overheard the guys who took me when I woke up, they want Maka," I say. "Should we tell her?"

"It would be our fault if she got hurt if we didn't," he mumbles.

I think for a moment. He's right, as always.

"Alright, but we'll do it after we go see Kid, now get out, I'm going to get dressed," I say, shoving him out the door.

I pull on the layers of grays and blacks, along with a silver chain around my neck, without a pendant. I shove my feet into combat boots and run out my door.

It's raining when we get outside and Sun cringes.

"I haven't seen the sun since yesterday, it starts to effect me after awhile," he explains to Soul. I stand close to Maka, Sun next to Soul, ready to fight danger. Secretly protecting them.

Kid's on a hospital bed in Steins office, stitched up and awake. We chat for a while, but Stein shoves us out, insisting Kid needs rest.

"So, Maka," Sun says, beginning the conversation, "Have you made any... recent enemies?" He asks. She raises her eyebrow in confusion.

"Not that I know of, why?" she answers, inching ever so slightly closer to Soul.

"I found this, and I believe it's referencing you," I explain, handing her the note. "It was next to Death's mask," I said.

She looks between me and Sun, confused. Soul reads the note over her shoulder.

"The men who took me mentioned you," I said.

"What does this mean though, why would they want me?" she asks. Her eyes widen, as do Sun's.

"Something tells me we're about to find out," Sun mutters under his breath.

Three men walk out from the dark alleyways of Death City, walking in a triangle formation.

"Remember, the blond one this time," a man laughs.

"Haha, real funny," a familiar voice replies.

"Why didn't I kill them," I mumble to myself. Sun tenses as something flies over our heads.

"Transform," Sun and Maka say, and we do. Soul sits as a scythe in Maka's hand and I as a scimitar, a wet one at that.

The rain drops form a dramatic beat, drip, drop, drip. Drip, drop, drip.

Without any warning, one of the men teleports behind us. The others charge.

Sun runs to the one behind us, stabbing him in the leg, then the torso. The man screams in agony and falls to the ground.

"Not that easy," someone laughs. Suddenly we're surrounded by the same man, multiplied.

"Bowstaff," Sun says to me, and I stretch out into a metal staff.

Sun spins me around close to the ground, tripping each man and they fall to the ground, disintegrating. The real guy flops to the ground last, splashing water around.

Maka shrieks.

"MAKA!" Soul yells. Sun bursts his soul outward in a blast of light, temporarily blinding the enemy.

We run over to the sound of Soul's voice, and he stands alone in front of a massive man, almost twice his size.

"Where is she?" I ask. He shrugs, tears in his eyes.

"She disappeared," he sighs. I turn back into my human form, silently praying to the moon to give me power.

"Darkness," I yell, my voice deep and different. I leap onto the man, and place my hands on his eyes. The spell flows from my palm past the surface of his eyes.

"MY EYES!" He yells, clawing at my hands. I leap off and stab him in the side with my arm. He lays awake on the ground.

"Where is she?" I ask, my arm, now a blade, inches from his throat.

"I'm not telling," He searches the blackness in his eyes for light, looking for any sign of being able to see.

"I asked you a question," I move the blade closer, drawing blood, "WHERE IS SHE?" I scream. His eyes widen.

"Headquarters," he gulps, closing his eyes. My arm changes back, and I walk away. Sun comes over and kicks him in the head.

"I was holding her and she just... disappeared," Soul chokes.

"We'll get her, but not in this condition, we need rest, lets go home," I say, helping Soul to his feet. My hands are bleeding from the man, his nails were sharper than I thought. Sun eyes my hands, blood dripping from them.

"I'll be fine," I say, dismissing his concern. I help a weak Soul up the stairs, placing him on the couch.

"Let's get you bandaged up," I say, eyeing the cut on the left side of his face. I place a warm cloth on the cut, but Sun takes it from me.

"I got this," he whispers to me, "Go get some rest,"
I smile at him, watching his sun tattoo glisten in the artificial light.

"Okay," I smile. I'm lucky to have him as a partner.

I drift to sleep, my eyes flutter. Slowly falling into unconsciousness, I'm met by screams of pain and terror.
