I wake up suddenly.
"SUN!" I scream.
"What?" he walks in grudgingly.
"We have to go, now," I gasp for breath.
"What's going on?" Soul wanders in.
I jump up and shove them out, slamming the door.
"Get dressed!" I yell through the door.
I quickly get dressed in my usual outfit, opening the door to find both of them dressed as well.
"Lets go!" I run out the door with them on my heels. We run towards where I was taken. The large building has no windows.
"Adi, wait what's going on," Sun grabs my hand.
"We have to get in there now," I pull free, running again. Surprisingly, nobody guards.
Suddenly Maka screams.
Soul pushes in front of me.We enter a room with only another door inside it, from which comes another scream. Soul bursts inside.
Maka sits in a chair, tied up. Scars go up her arms and across her face, presumably from a whip.
Tears streak down her face as a man readies the whip before he notices us.
Maka's eyes shift towards us.
She shakes her head and mouths 'I'm sorry,""The main guests have arrived!" Someone behind us yells.
"What?" I ask. They already took me, why would the need bait."I like watching you children squirm," a female voice says. A women walks out of the shadows.
Sun tenses and shivers. He stares at her in shock.
"What is it?" I mumble to him.
"It's... It's her!" He gasps. He looks as of he's seen a ghost.
We're outnumbered instantly, suddenly surrounded.
I raise my hands in surrender and bow my head. The witch chants.
"Good morning," Sun smiles at me. I blink my eyes at the brightness of the sun from the window.
"Hurry, we're gonna be late for school!" He skips off to his room.
What?
What?!
How much of that was a dream?
No, not a dream, a vision.
I slowly get dressed and go downstairs, greeted by a smiling Maka and Soul.
"Are you okay?" Maka laughs, "you look like you've seen a ghost!"
I freeze for a moment.
Maka? I suddenly run up to her and give her a random hug.
"Hey, you okay?" She asks. I shake my head.
"Where's Kid? Lord Death?" I ask quickly.
"Kids at his house and Deaths in the death room, where they normally are?" She looks at my confused expression.
"But... But..." I turn around slowly, unsure of what is reality and what isn't.
"What is the most recent thing that's happened?" I ask.
"You went to see your father, I guess," she takes a step back.
"That was weeks ago," I gasp.
"That was yesterday," she whispers.
I turn quickly and bolt to my room. What?
What?
My mind thinks about the 'dream'. I consider what in that could have caused anything suspisous.
Nothing.
Except...
The witch! She must have cast something! What? What kind of spell is this? Is this reality? A dream?
"You ready, Adira?" Sun knocks on my door.
"I'm not going!" I walk to the door and lock it.
"How come?" He asks, trying to open the door.
"Uh, girl problems," I say, unconvincingly.
"What do you want me to tell Stein?" He asks.
"Don't say anything, just shrug!" I yell through the door.
"Do you need anything?" He asks. I shake my head then realize he can't see me.
"No!" I sing.
~time skip, later that day~
Knocks at the door. "Adira, you okay?" Tsubaki sings through the door.
"Just peachie!" I say as I open it. Luckily, no Blackstar.
Tsubaki tilts her head. "Why weren't you at school today?" she asks.
"I just... You know... Needed a... A break," I look around nervously.
"What happened?" She assesses my body language.
"Just a... A bad dream I guess," I turn away, " look, I need some time alone, okay, so if you wouldn't mind leaving," I close the door in their face and run upstairs to my room before Maka and Soul, along with Sun, came home.
I can't tell what's real anymore. Was that all just a dream? It couldn't have been. Could it?
"Adi?" Sun's voice asks. I open the door slowly.
I don't speak, I never speak until I sort out what's going on within me.
"What's wrong?" He asks. I sit on my bed silently. "I know something happens, you do this when your trying to wrap your head around something, I can't help," he puts his hand on my shoulder. I shove it off. I look at him, realizing he is wearing many coats and most of his skin is covered.
He never does that.
"Look, whatever's bothering we can work out together, right?" I look at his hand, his sun ring on the wrong figure. This isn't Sun. I think about everythig, and realize Tsubaki's voice echoed, as did Maka's."This isn't real," I gasp. I fight to wake up, to go back to reality.
"What are you talking about, it's real," Sun brushes his hair out of his face.
I shake my head and pace around the room. "It's not," I step on the floor by my bed and expect to hear a creak, but don't.
"How do I wake up, Sun," I whisper to him.
"You're not in a dream," he says.
"No, how do i-" I start, interrupted by Sun hitting me in the face.
"It's not a dream," he says.
"It is," he hits me again.
"It's not," he says again.
"It is," I persist. He hits me again.
"It's not," he looks me in the eye and I get dizzy.
"It's not," I repeat.
"Sleep," he says before I collapse on the bed, out cold.
I can't move. Sun's voice still echoes in the back of my head.
"It's not,"
