Valerie’s POV:

*Three Days Later*

This is just sad. I thought as I watched Dan stare at Gemma while she walked around the flat. I decided to get Dan out of the room before Gemma noticed. I grabbed his arm and pulled him out of the room.

“Val,” Dan whined.

“Dan,” I mocked, “Seriously, you’re hopeless.”

“What?” he asked. I pulled him to the stairs and we started to head up.

“You just keep watching Gemma,” I said, “If she notices you staring, she’s gonna be creeped out.”

“I- I wasn’t-”

“Don’t even deny it Dan,” I said, “Everyone can tell that you like her. Just grow a pair and ask her out already!”

“It’s not that simple,” Dan whined, “I’m so awkward around her it’s not even funny!”

“Actually,” I said, “It’s hilarious.” Dan sent me a glare. We walked down the hallway and headed to the music room.

“Where are we going?” Dan asked.

“You’ll see,” I said as I grabbed the door handle. I pushed the door open and stepped aside to let Dan into the room.

“Holy-” Dan breathed, looking around the room in awe. I chuckled and followed him in.

“I know,” I said. Dan walked around the room and admired it.

“Damn,” Dan said, “Do the guys ever use this?” He pointed over to the sound booth. I shrugged.

“Normally they go to the studio,” I said, “So no, not really.”

“Wanna try recording something?” Dan asked, “Might as well so we can film your first cover video.”

“Sure,” I said, “We’ll need to get Perrie though; she’s the only one who knows how to use the sound board.” Dan nodded and left the room, returning with Perrie a few minutes later, Gemma trailing behind. I grabbed one of the guitars and double checked to make sure it was tuned.

“Okay,” Perrie said as she sat down, “Just get into the booth and let me know when you’re ready. We’ll record the guitar first.” I nodded and got into the booth. I sat in front of the microphone and positioned it to record the guitar.

I gave Perrie a thumbs up. She pushed a few buttons and turned a few knobs and gave me a nod. I started playing the song I had picked, running through the lyrics in my head as I played to notes.

Soon enough, I had finished recording the guitar portion and Perrie let me know that she had ended the recording. She motioned for me to put the headphones on, which I did.

“Okay,” Perrie said, speaking into the microphone on the outside, “Stand up when you sing. It’s easier to control your breathing and your voice when you stand.” I did as she said and she soon let me know that she was recording. I heard the guitar playing in the headphones and I began to sing.

Here I am waiting, I’ll have to leave soon
Why am I holding on?
We knew this day would come, we knew it all along
How did it come so fast?

This is our last night but it’s late
And I’m trying not to sleep
‘Cause I know, when I wake
I will have to slip away

And when the daylight comes I’ll have to go
But tonight I’m gonna hold you so close
‘Cause in the daylight we’ll be on our own
But tonight I need to hold you so close
Ooh whoa, Ooh whoa, Ooh whoa
Ooh whoa, Ooh whoa, Ooh whoa

Here I am staring at your perfection
In my arms so beautiful
The sky is getting bright, the stars are burning out
Somebody slow it down

This is way too hard
‘Cause I know, when the sun comes up
I will leave, this is my last glance
That will soon be memory

And when the daylight comes I’ll have to go
But tonight I’m gonna hold you so close
‘Cause in the daylight we’ll be on our own
But tonight I need to hold you so close
Ooh whoa, Ooh whoa, Ooh whoa
Ooh whoa, Ooh whoa, Ooh whoa

I never wanted to stop
Because I don’t wanna start all over, start all over
I was afraid of the dark
But now it’s all that I want, all that I want
All that I want

And when the daylight comes I’ll have to go
But tonight I’m gonna hold you so close
‘Cause in the daylight we’ll be on our own
But tonight I need to hold you so close

And when the daylight comes I’ll have to go
But tonight I’m gonna hold you so close
‘Cause in the daylight we’ll be on our own
But tonight I need to hold you so close
Ooh whoa, Ooh whoa, Ooh whoa
Ooh whoa, Ooh whoa, Ooh whoa
Ooh whoa, Ooh whoa, Ooh whoa
Ooh whoa, Ooh whoa, Ooh whoa

I finished singing and glanced up at the others. Perrie was quietly clapping and Gemma was smiling, giving me a thumbs up. And then there’s Dan… who was distracted by Gemma.

“Good job,” Perrie said, “I don’t think we’ll need to record a second time, so we’re done here.” I nodded and took off the headphones. I stepped out of the booth and Dan, Gemma, and I headed out of the room, Perrie insisting that she stay back and work on the audio.

“It was nice to see you singing again,” Gemma said, “Before I have to go back home.” I frowned.

“When are you leaving?” I asked.

“Three days,” she said. I saw Dan pout from the corner of my eye.

I swear to God… Dan grow a pair before she leaves…

Holly’s POV:

I was on Twitter… yes, I know it was probably a bad idea knowing the reaction fans had to me dating Harry, but it was a habit. I was scrolling through my mentions.

Hate.
Hate.
Oh, that one’s nice. Follow her.
Hate.
Harry cheats.
Hate…
What…?

I scrolled back up to the tweet.

@1DUpdatesAre @Harry_Styles and @HollyMacentire over?

I clicked on the picture attached to the tweet. When I saw it I bit my lip and felt the tears well up.

Harry, clearly drunk, was locking lips with another girl.
