Kiara’s POV:

I wished I could have stayed at the hotel, but Niall was being released from the hospital today and Liam, Danielle, and I were picking him up. My head was pounding and I felt dizzy.

“Okay,” Liam said as we pulled up to the hospital, “The fans shouldn’t know we’re coming here so we should be able to get in without any issues.” He opened the door and stepped out, Danielle and I following him.

“Listen, I’ll be inside in a moment,” I said. Danielle turned to look at me.

“Are feeling okay Kiara?” she asked. I shrugged.

“I just have a headache,” I said, “You guys go ahead; I’ll be up in a moment.” They hesitated, but headed inside anyways. I walked over to a concrete support and leaned against it. I took a deep breath.

“Are you Kiara Clarke?” a voice asked. I turned to see a girl standing to my right, just looking at me. She was short, maybe fifteen years old at most. She had a couple One Direction bracelets and she wore an “I <3 Niall” t-shirt.

          “Yes,” I said hesitantly.

The girl walked up to me and stopped right in front of me, staring up at me.

“It’s your fault Niall got shot,” she said, “He could have been killed. What was he even protecting you from? I’ll bet it wasn’t worth him getting shot.”

          “I-”

“You’re probably just playing with his emotions,” the girl said, “You don’t deserve him.” That’s when her claws came out. She scratched my arms, tore at my clothes and pulled at my hair. And what’s worse? At this point, I felt so sick and so weak that I couldn’t fight her off.

Danielle’s POV:

“I’m going to go and check on Kiara,” I told Liam. He nodded and walked into Niall’s room to help him get ready to leave. I made my way to the door and outside.

“Hey!” I yelled, seeing what was going on. The girl assaulting Kiara saw me and ran away. I hurried over to a dazed Kiara and helped her inside.

A younger nurse caught sight of us and hurried over to help.

          “What happened?” she asked.

“Some girl was outside beating her,” I said. The nurse nodded and led the both of us over to an empty room. She took out some gauze and some bandages and began cleaning up Kiara’s scrapes and cuts.

“Did you hit your head?” the nurse asked Kiara, noticing how out of it she was. Kiara slowly shook her head.

“No,” Kiara said, “My head just hurts.” The nurse nods and finishes cleaning up Kiara’s cuts.

“Do you feel dizzy?” she asked. Kiara nodded, “Did you feel like this before this girl attacked you?” Kiara nodded again, “Any other symptoms?”

“There’s- there’s this ringing in my ears,” Kiara says. The nurse nods.

“We’ll have to do a couple tests, okay?” Kiara nods again.

“I’m going to go and talk to Liam okay Ki?” I said, “Then I’ll be right back.” Kiara nodded again and I turned and quickly made my way back to Niall’s room. I saw Liam outside of the room and made my way over to him.

“Hi Dani,” Liam said when he caught sight of me, then noticed something was wrong, “What’s the matter?”

“Kiara’s getting checked out by a nurse,” I said quietly. Liam raised an eyebrow.

“What’s wrong with her?” I sighed.

“There was a girl attacking her when I went to check on her,” I said and Liam’s eyebrows rose.

          “Is she okay?”

“From the attack?” I said, “Yeah, but the headache she had may not be just a headache.”

“What attack?” Niall walked out of the room, fully dressed and ready to leave. Liam and I exchanged glances, silently agreeing not to tell Niall about the attack just yet.

“Um, it’s nothing you have to worry about,” I said, “But we can’t leave just yet.” Niall just looked confused.

          “Why not?”

“Kiara’s having some tests done right now.”

“Why?” Niall’s confused look turned to a look of concern.

“She wasn’t feeling the best when we came here,” Liam said, “We’re not sure what’s going on just yet. We’ll wait for the tests to be done. Dani, could you go and wait for her tests to be done? We just have to wait for Niall’s prescription for his pain meds.” I nodded, turned, and walked back over to where Kiara was.

When I reached the room Kiara was laying down with her eyes closed and the nurse had been replaced by a doctor, who was writing something down in her notes.

“How’s she?” I asked. The doctor looked up from the notes.

“She has labyrinthitis,” the doctor said, “Which is basically an inner ear infection. The headache and the dizziness were caused by it. There’s a pretty good chance that she’ll also feel nauseous and experience episodes of vertigo.”

          “What’s the treatment?” I asked.

“It’ll eventually go away on its own,” the doctor said, “But I can give her some meds for her dizziness and some for if she feels nauseous.”

I nodded and the doctor left the room, saying that she’d be back in a moment.
