Holly's POV:
~October 3rd~
I was out for a walk, mulling over what I had been told yesterday and whether or not I should believe any of it. After everything that woman did to me, should I really believe what she told me?
~Flashback~
"What are you doing here?" I asked when I saw her standing in the doorway. She just smiled sadly at me.
"Hi Holly," Aunt Claire said.
"Like I said, what are you doing here?" She looked down the hallway before looking at me again.
"Can I come in?" I hesitated in answering her and she sighed, "I promise, I'm not going to hurt you. I actually came here to thank you." That intrigued me.
"You can explain to me out here," I said. She nodded and told me... well... everything. She explained how she had never wanted to hurt me, how my uncle was forcing her to because he held a grudge against me for living while my parents died. She thanked me for finally getting him thrown in jail.
"You need to believe me when I say this Holly," she said, "I never once meant to hurt you. You're like a daughter to me and I'm sorry that I hurt you like I did." I took a deep breath.
"I don't know if I can believe you," I said, crossing my arms and leaning against the doorway. My aunt nodded.
"I understand," she said. She reached into her pocket and took out a piece of paper and handed it to me, "I'll be staying here in London for a week and then I need to go back to Chicago. I have more to tell you but I'll let you decide if you want to hear it. Just call me if you want to talk."
And with that, she left.
~Flashback Over~
I turned around and headed back to the flat building. I had to know what else she had to tell me.
I was approaching the building when I saw that the outside of it was swarmed with paparazzi. I stopped walking and watched as they started questioning a guy that was trying to get inside.
"I DO NOT KNOW WHO YOU SPEAK OF!" the man said in a clearly fake accent, "WHAT IS ONE DIRECTION? WHO ARE THESE LOUIS, HARRY, LIAM, NIALL, AND ZAYN YOU SPEAK OF? LET ME THROUGH I AM JUST TRYING TO SEE MY GIRLFRIEND!"
I squinted and studied the guy and after a few seconds I saw through his disguise.
"That idiot is going to get himself trampled," I chuckled, walking over to him and the paps' attention was turned to me.
"HOLLY!"
"HOLLY! ARE YOU GOING TO VISIT THE BOYS SOON?!"
"HOW'S PERRIE DOING?"
"WHERE'S VALERIE?"
While the paps had their attention to me, the guy snuck into the building, unseen by the paps.
I kept my head down and walked into the building. When I was inside I looked around for the guy and when I saw him, I walked up to him and tapped him on the shoulder.
"Hey Louis," I said. He turned to me and smiled.
"Hey Holls." We both walked up to the flat.
"What was with that accent Louis?" I asked. He just shrugged.
"I don't know," he said, "I knew they'd recognize my voice so I just did the first accent that popped into my head."
"You're an idiot, you know that right?"
"Hey!" We reached the door and I unlocked it.
"HEY VALERIE!" I called, "YOU'LL NEVER GUESS WHO I FOUND!" Louis took off his disguise while Valerie came down the stairs and when she saw him, her smile grew.
Valerie's POV:
Louis hurried over to me and pulled me close to him, his arms wrapped around me and his face buried into my hair.
"I thought Paul said you couldn't come," I said.
"He did," Louis said, "I may have snuck away while everyone was asleep." I pulled away from him and crossed my arms.
"You shouldn't have disobeyed Paul like that," I said. Louis pouted.
"I know," he said, putting his hands at my waist and pulling me close to him again, "But I wanted to be with you for our one year anniversary." I couldn't help but smile. Even if he was being an idiot and getting in trouble, he still managed to be the sweetest guy in the world.
"Okay," Holly said, "Enough with all the sappiness." Louis and I turned to look at her, "I'm going to call my aunt."
"You decided to talk to her?" I asked. When Holly told us what had happened, I never thought that she would actually listen to what her aunt had to say, especially after all she went though.
"Wait," Louis said, completely confused, "You mean the aunt that abused you?" Holly winced at the word and nodded.
"Yeah," she said, "She came for a visit yesterday to thank me for getting my uncle thrown in jail. She also said that she had some things to tell me and if I wanted to hear them, I could call her."
"I can't believe you're actually doing this," I said, "What if it's all just a lie and she's just trying to hurt you?"
"Then we can kick her out and we never have to hear from her again," Holly said, "I have to know what she has to say."
It was a few hours later. Holly had called her aunt and they were in the living room talking. Louis and I were in the kitchen, eating the chocolate covered cake balls that Kiara had left here.
"These are actually really good," Louis said, stuffing another one into his mouth, "Think she still has more? I wanna take some back to the boys."
"Quiet," I shushed, "I'm trying to hear what they're saying."
"Eavesdropping's not very polite," he teased.
"SHH!" Louis got quiet and I was able to hear what they were talking about.
"Your dad was a great man," Holly's aunt, Claire, said, "But he made a couple mistakes in life and this was just one of his bigger ones."
"What was it?"
"He and your mom had had a falling out one day," Claire said, "Your dad left for the night and came back home the next day, completely hung over. He did apologize to your mom about the fight but he kept a secret. While he was drunk, he met this woman and he cheated on your mom. They didn't see each other again after that but they kept in contact."
"Why'd they keep in contact?"
There was a pause.
"Because he got her pregnant. You have a half sister named Alexandra Amber Lin."
