♣Newt's POV♣

When I wake, Thomas isn't beside me.

I panic but then he walks into the room.

"It's okay, it's okay," he hushes me, "I just went to get you something to eat,"

He hands me a bacon sandwich and I slowly eat it, with every bite I can see him out of the corner of my eye observing me closely.

"What?" I question him.

"You're just, I just---" he starts but then stops. "Nothing," he adds kissing my forehead.

A tall woman comes into the room and my breathing hitches.

"Hello Newton," She says and I'm about to correct her when Thomas does it for me before I can.

"Newt,"

"Right, Newt. I'm Chancellor Paige, I knew you when you were just a wee baby," She says and I pull a face.

"Newt was just about to get some more rest," Thomas spits out rudely. "He almost died not that long ago unless you forgot,"

She nods and leaves the room.

"I bloody hate that woman," Thomas growls.

"Isn't she your boss?" I ask

He shakes his head.

"Newt, I need to show you something," he says and grabs my hand and hoists me up off the bed onto the floor.

"Okay," I squeak.

We walk out of the door of the room I was in and down a few corridors. I don't know where we're going but I'm getting tired.

"Tommy," I say stopping to take a breath and he turns back to me, concerned.

"I've got you," he says grabbing me into his arms, "We're nearly there,"

We come to a halt at a door and Thomas opens it. He goes in and I hesitate before slowly following him.

The room is empty and dark.

I can't even see Thomas.

"Tommy?" I whisper.

"Here," I here him answer but I still can't locate him from his voice.

I'm about to find the door and reopen it to get some light in here when the room lights up.

There are tiny specks of light all around. I look at Thomas, the light coming out of him. ((If you've seen Guardians of the Galaxy, think of when Groot does it, it's like that))

"Wow," I say looking up at him.

Beautiful.

"Turn around," He says and I do.

My name, "Newton," is carved into the wall, Thomas' too, and Gally's and other peoples that I can't name, other than Aris, who I met yesterday.

I put my hand on my name and I feel a shiver go down my spine.

Freaky.

Suddenly a loud alarm goes off and Thomas is on me within seconds pulling me out of the room.

"What's happening?" I shout at him.

"We're under attack," He says.

"By Ratman?" I ask and he shrugs.

"I don't know,"

We run down the corridor and come across a girl with ginger hair.

"Thomas!" She says and runs towards us. I back away a little but Thomas hand is still in mine. "Char!" He says smiling.

She grabs Thomas hand and I suddenly feel really uncomfortable.

"Newt grab her hand," Thomas says to me. I look at him, questioning his judgement. "Trust me," He adds and I grab her hand.

Before I know what's happening were not in the corridor anymore, were in a desert.

"Where are we?" I shout.

"The scorch," Thomas says and starts walking in a random direction.

"How did we? I--. Thomas this is too much I can't, I can't play this game anymore I just want to wake up. This is just a bad dream," I say closing my eyes, trying to drag myself away from this nightmare.

"Newt, trust me," He says and I open my eyes. "I won't let anything bad happen to you,"

I scoff. "Because it's your job,"

"Yes, it's my job, but it's also because I love you,"

I look up at him and I know I have to trust him, even if he wrecks me. Even if he's my hell, I'd take him just to have the one day of heaven.

I follow him until we come across a random cabin. When we get there and open the door someone if waiting on the other side, holding a gun.

"Don't shoot!" Thomas says shielding me. Is he an idiot? I can heal, he can't.

"Hand him over and no one gets hurt," he says.

"No," Thomas growls. "You can't have him,"

Rat man pulls the trigger and fires and Char and she falls to the ground. I let out a scream and he reloads.

"Now we could do this the nice way, or the hard way," he says.

Thomas doesn't move an inch.

Someone comes up behind me and grabs me and before I know it, I'm at a new location, again.
